ASHITA HE NO KODOU - Forum
Pathfinder

Do you want action? Do you want school drama? Do you want the ultimate mix of dungeoneering, slice of life, and comedy? Do you want a plot that won't shy away from asking the deepest, most thought-provoking questions, such as

Then ASHITA HE NO KODOU is the game for you! A game built for two players, we got so many good applications that I ultimately decided to run it for two distinct groups, consisting of two people each. But why Group 2 has been making steady progresses and is now nearing the conclusion of the Prologue, Group 1 has been greatly delayed by the sudden disappearance of one of its member, meaning that we now have one guy who lost his partner for this adventure.
Thus, I'm starting this new ad: my hope is that, in the span of a week at most, a suitable replacement can be found. As mentioned, you'll be inserted in Group 1, which is still stuck at the beginning of the Prologue, so yeah, it's early enough that we can afford to just put you in the place of the disappeared player and pretend you were always there, so no catching up or "subplot to win the party's trust" will be required. All you need to do is to create a character, jump in, and play.

Speaking of: here are the creation rules, here is the profile of your companion, and here is the profile of the character you're replacing, in case you're curious. Since the balance of the class (as in, your class at school), in terms of both male/female representation and noble/commoner dichotomy is kind of a big deal in the campaign's plot as a whole, I will be much more likely to accept a female commoner as a character for this group, but that is not a strict requisite, if you REALLY want to play something else.

Parhaius' ability to actually play this game is resting on how quickly we can find a substitute, so I do hope that people willing to give this a shot will show up ASAP. Come one come all!

Game Description:

A campaign that borrows setting and general plot premise from acclaimed videogame The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, and the grand return of Catherine Cook as a DM on this forum.

Don't know the source material at all, admitting that straight away, but it sounds pretty damned interesting and it'll force me outside my default comfort zone a little!

Thinking of an Arcanist (Occultist) who struggled to make friends because she was a little weird but learned to summon them instead? Focus on summoning, which will be another step outside of my normal comfort zone.

That is a potentially cool idea but, before you go for it, I urge you to read this.

Thanks for the link, I had read it before posting earlier as I was poking around all the setting information you had put up If I understand it correctly, he'd merely working out how to use the ARCUS unit and the energy within to conjure creatures? Or to perform other spells.

Pretty much, yeah. Remember that Summon spells are figments of your own imagination given physical form through your (or your ARCUS unit's, in this case) magical energy. Grabbing an actual denizen of a different plane and flat-out dragging it into our own world requires a Calling spell (Planar Ally, Planar Binding, Gate etc), which are well beyond your current abilities right now. Although in the case of a summoner, whether your Eidolon is an imaginary friend given a body (one you can alter as you see fit no less) or an actual, honest-to-God outsider could be debatable. I've seen compelling arguments made for both sides of this matter.

My plan was to go with Elements from the earliest point possible (third level, as an Occultist Archetyped Arcanist) and stick with one type of element a day, first with just her summons then, much later, by using her Greater Metamagic Knowledge to swap out Elemental Spell for a different element type daily and prepare her elemental spells as different elements where necessary. From what I've read, it'd make sense and explainable as a substitution of the Quartz?

Might be misunderstanding, but my interpretation of what you had written (and some quick googling for more information) made me think the orbs (made of quartz, no?) can be swapped into and out of the orbments? That different orbs have different abilities?? Sorta like the resonant abilities of a Wayfinder/Ioun Stone(s)? In game it could just be a fluff thing, it doesn't necessarily have to have a mechanical impact it just seemed like a way of explaining her focus.

Ugh sorry, I was busy IRL and missed this. Anyway, this seems like more than a bit of a stretch. I recommend everything that has been revealed about the ARCUS so far, both in the IC topics and in the write-ups I've posted in the "useful topics" section.
