Hidden Dragon, 5E Wuxia Template

While some elements of Wuxia have been introduced in 5E, like the Monk class and Kensai Archetype, they're really not enough to run a whole game based around them. Like the one player who insisted on having a revolver and a ten gallon hat, they feel out of place in most campaigns. Visitors from another land and not particularly grounded in the surrounding lore. This little bit of homebrew seeks to change that.

Ki Training Template
The Monk class is the perfect example of a Wuxia character. They're capable of extraordinary things, even some supernatural things, but those abilities have a price in the form of Ki. This template grants the power to use Ki and train in a variety of martial arts to all characters. These martial arts grant supernatural abilities that can be used outside of combat.

Ki Powers
You have the same amount of Ki as a Monk of equal level. If you are a Monk, you gain extra Ki equal to 1/2 your Monk level, rounded up. This powers many of the abilities of this template. Regain all Ki after finishing a short or long rest, during which you must meditate for at least 30 minutes.

Every school encourages their students to train a variety of ways. Choose one of the following styles. Monks start with the Dragon Style and may choose another. If both styles use unarmed attacks they may choose which to use when making the attack.
