Adamantine Bark Carya is almost impervious to conventional injury, her bark often deflecting the mightiest of blows without her even knowing it. Critical hits cannot be made against her. Further, if she is hit by a piercing or slashing melee weapon, the wielder must make a Strength save or have his weapon stuck in her bark, disarming him. The DC is equal to the damage roll, as more powerful blows drive the weapon deeper into her bark. Anyone within 5ft may take an action to try and retrieve a stuck weapon, at the same DC.
Consume Vitality When Carya kills any creature of the Plant Type with a melee attack, she immediately recovers 10 hit points. If this creature is a treant, Carya also increases her AC by 2 until the start of her next turn.
Disease Eater A plaguesap treant is healed by disease and poison, benefiting as if from a
Lesser Restoration spell when exposed to infectious disease over a short rest, or as if from a
Greater Restoration spell over a long rest, although this benefit will not lift a curse. Whenever subjected to poison damage, a plaguesap treant takes no damage and instead recovers hit points equal to the poison damage dealt. A
Contagion spell acts as a
Heal spell to a plaguesap treant.
Frightening Appearance Carya is very clearly not a normal tree, her sheer immensity and twisted nature making the bravest quake in fear. Each creature within 120ft of Carya and aware of her must make a DC16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for one minute. A creature can repeat this save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. A creature becomes immune to Frightening Appearance for 24 hours if it succeeds on any of these saves.
Sap Spray If injured by a slashing or piercing attack, a plaguesap treant violently expels some of its sap in the direction of the attack. Slashing damage causes a cone spray of 5ft, whilst piercing damage causes a 5ft-wide line spray of 10ft. For every five additional points of damage incurred over 10, the size of the spray increases in 5ft-increments for the cone and 10ft-increments for the line, up to a maximum of four increments. All creatures exposed to the line spray must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw to try and avoid it, or a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw to avoid the cone spray.
Siege Monster Plaguesap treants deal double damage to objects and structures.
Toxic Sap Most living creatures that come into skin contact with the sap of a plaguesap treant will simply suffer 2d6 poison damage per round of exposure, or half that if they pass a DC 12 Constitution save, and those that lack immunity to the poisoned condition will also become a contact transmission vector for the sap after two days, until healed by a
Lesser Restoration or similar curative spell. Noticing the infection once it becomes active is relatively easy, but differentiating it from a mild case of jaundice is extremely difficult, requiring a DC 25 Medicine check.
Creatures with the Plant Type are vulnerable to this damage and require a
Greater Restoration,
Heal or
Heroes` Feast spell, or a
Remove Curse spell cast within an area consecrated by
Hallow, to be cured of infection. Worse still, unlike other creature types, they do not exhibit any visible signs of the infection and so may easily go untreated. Treants, or ordinary trees, that are infected will start to produce plaguesap treant seeds instead of their normal ones.
ACTIONS
Multiattack Carya makes two slam attacks.
Slam Melee weapon attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage.
Rock Ranged weapon attack: +13 to hit, range 60/180 ft., one target. Hit: 30 (4d10 + 8) bludgeoning damage.
Crush Underroot Melee weapon attack: +13 to hit, range 10 ft., one prone target. Hit: 34 (4d12+8) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, it is restrained and will suffer a further 14 (1d12+8) bludgeoning damage each turn.
Corrupting Spores (long rest) A plaguesap treant that is rooted may begin converting some of its sap into reproductive spores, gradually expelling them into the local area after one hour of preparation. As they are expelled, the spores fill a 20ft-radius sphere around the plaguesap treant and are then carried randomly for up to a mile according to the wind. Living creatures that come into contact with these spores are immediately infected and become new contact vectors themselves, enabling the further spread until a tree or, ideally, treant is contaminated. The plaguesap treant can take no actions other than to cease the conversion and uproot itself during this time.
Root (at will) As a defensive measure, plaguesap treants may root themselves in the soil, becoming immobile but leeching nourishment from the earth. They gain advantage on Constitution saving throws, regain 1 hit point every round and increase their Armor Class by 4 points. Both rooting and uprooting requires one minute, during which time the plaguesap treant must not take other actions, or else have to begin again.
Upheaval (special) Carya has spent so long practically motionless, growing her roots deep through the mountain, that she is loath to move from her position. Should she be sufficiently roused, however, Carya will tear herself free with a single violent surge of power, sending earth and rocks flying in all directions. All creatures within 360ft must make a DC18 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone and suffer 22 (4d10) bludgeoning damage, or half the damage if they succeed. A creature that is concentrating and is not knocked prone must also make a DC18 Constitution saving throw to maintain its concentration. If a creature of Large size or smaller is knocked prone within 10ft of Carya, she may make a Crush Underroot attack against it as a bonus action.
On Initiative count 20 for the next three rounds, smaller rocks will fall back down within 720ft, turning all terrain difficult and dealing 7 (2d6) bludgeoning damage to any creature that fails a DC15 Dexterity saving throw, or half that if they succeed. A fissure will also randomly open on each of these three rounds. Finally, a great dust cloud will heavily obscure the surrounding 120ft around Carya for five turns, although anything with eyes more than 20ft off the ground, such as a flying creature and including Carya, is unaffected.
It will take Carya 2d12+20 months of being permanently rooted before she may use this action again.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS
Irresistible - Carya destroys an unattended non-magical item or a portion of a structure within 15ft. A magical item may make a special saving throw against DC14 to avoid destruction, using the casting ability score of their creator. If the magical item had been created by a wizard, for example, it would make an Intelligence saving throw. Sentient magic items make a Charisma saving throw using their own ability score.
Relentless - Carya gains advantage on her next attack or damage roll.
Sweeping Strike (costs 3 actions) - Size really does matter, as Carya crushes all before her with a massive sweep of her branches. She makes a slam attack against everything in a 15ft-radius semicircle around her, also forcing any creature she hits to make a DC14 Dexterity save or be knocked prone. If a creature of Large size or smaller is knocked prone by this attack, Carya may make a Crush Underroot attack against it as a bonus action.
