Drama's D&D 5e Homebrew World Setting

It's been so long since I made any head way with an authentic homebrew world. I usually take a game setting and run with a module that takes place in a world that has already been created. I want this little space to be my workshop so that I can gain advice, create an enriching environment that will be fun to play using the recently released 5th edition core rules from Dungeons and Dragons.

World of Aeros

A feudal and primitive world rich with the landscapes of fantasy, weapons forged with the iron of war and masterful arcane magic that dances wildly in the night. Upon the rich farm lands of Aeros there are two struggling cities at war. Cartha and Ysgard. These two cities of the nation of Aeros struggle for total dominance over the large land mass. Cartha and Ysgard is not the only cities of Aeros. There is Isengard and the Mournlands as well. Some smaller settlements dot the surrounding landscapes.

Cities of Aeros

Cartha- City split and torn asunder from the devastating war of ages. Roaming demons freely stalk the landscape to find suitable souls to eat, specifically called World Eaters, these demons have slinked back towards the chaos realm by the hand of Sir Pontifus Dresus. Since the sundering occurred, the catastrophic disaster happened when demons had spilled from an open portal by the black shadow. A warlock of incredible power. This warlock sent forth demons to do his bidding. Some of the holy men of Ysgard regard the black shadow as a powerful entity that could not only control demons and devils but the power of fate.

Black Legion- Men of evil nature, these men bore the banner of Cartha and assembled under the fealty of Aero's one true King who would unite four largest cities of Aeros under one lineage. A systematic sweep through the outer fringes of Ysgard and deep into Aasimir celestial held territories. The Black Legion were grouped in small armies gathered by would be conquering warlords of Cartha. Joined with the World Eaters, it was only a matter of time before Cartha openly ruled Ysgard, Isengard and the Mournlands.

Ysgard- People of free will and fealty to the King as well, these men and woman of aasimair decent took Cartha's break from the King as treason for their independence. With southern Cartha and the black legionnaires holding a sizable army, one that outnumbered even Ysgard and Isengard combined, King Dais II tried to unify both troubled cities back under common law. Common law spoke of all men of Aero's as being under the one true house of the King. But Cartha held different views. Cartha's nobles believed that descendants of Aero's King was tainted when celestial bloodlines were mixed with those of the Cartha's bloodlines. Cartha's blood lines were more in attuned from descendants of infernal dark pacts of demons and devils. It was until the Black Shadow united men and woman of Cartha to rebel against Ysgard and Isengard.

Ysgard severed the holy union of the King's throne when Bartholomew the Great, a nobles descendant of King Dais found proof of Dais consorting with devils and demons and spilt the treaty of Sojurn. Up until present time, 385 TR racial tension between the two cities had been at an all time high. Ysgard were known as scholars, men of text and scripture. Hardworking intellectual men and woman who solidified ancient technologies and far surpassed archeotech science and math with the use of the sun dial to tell time. Working machines made of metal using alloys to thin the process through human blacksmiths which received the metal from the dwarves of the Misty Mountains. Paladins and holy warriors fought to protect Carthas borders because of the attraction of evil to the land of Cartha for reasons explained later.

When Bartholomew the Great found out King Dais had been consorting with devils and demons, it was upon Cragmaw Point overlooking the Sea of Storms that Bartholomew sent word to the King denouncing the King as the one true ruler of Aeros and a treaty of independence from Aero's. The King did not like this idea and did not know all the details so he sent an assassin to carry out Bartholomew's execution by poison. The poison worked as the Great was near the Citadel. The name of the King's Castle. Bartholomew died near an inn close in proximity to Dais the II abode.

It was then that visionaries from Ysgard were to announce war but not before Cartha gathered all able warlords to unite against the King and overthrow the King and execute him where he stood. This began the War of Ages. Soon the land was stricken with plagues, grief and heavy losses to both sides.

Isengard is and was a place rich with the tapestry of war. Independent of both Cartha and Ysgard, the men of northeast Isengard regarded the barbaric men of Cartha as dispositions to the King's rule. Throwing out common law, the men of Cartha disregarded obligatory rule from the King. Isengard was the one true small city of Aeros to still maintain old tradition and the ways of the Aero's people. During the schism of Cartha and Ysgard, Isengard remained neutral till the time of shadow stalked the land. It was only till a great gate held open by the black shadow did many demons filter out onto the material world. If it weren't for a man of great power from Isengard to close the gate and stop the demons from entering the realm would the world have been lost over many times over by the shadow and it's minions.

The man from Isengard name was Contreau Du'Moire. A captivating and warring knight by any stretch of the imagination. If Contreau did not fight and unite the men of Isengard and Ysgard under the banner of the Mournlands then Cartha might not have met it's match. For now, solidifying new territory carved out from the realm of south and north with Cartha caught in the middle, Carth was out flanked by both sides and to the east and west the Mournlands began to not only speak of this new legion of Guardians but land steeped in mystery, arcane witch craft and necrotic undeath.

For Contreau believed to beat evil, then by being evil it shall be to beat the evil. For in strength is leadership and strength in determination Contreau lead his men towards the pillaging, ransacking and raising of the vast Cartha held lands. These war crimes deviated all the goodness and name sakes of celestial heritage till the god of war and retribution turned his back upon the guardians and wide spread famine, disease and corruption infamously spread through all the evil realm.
