Ivalice: Age of Adventure (FFRPG 3e)

Ivalice: Age of Adventure - Forum
Miscellaneous

More than half a century has passed since the ceasefire between the empires of Rozarria and Archadia and the fall of Lemures, the floating continent. When Lemures fell from the skies, the Mist over Ivalice shifted, revealing new lands that had once been unreachable. This brand new discovery led into a new age, where many chose to venture out to explore and map out the new world. This has since become known as the beginning of the Age of Adventure.

From the western continents of Leim, full of wandering tribes and Oramery, a land of unmeasurable magic advances, to the ever-changing Kerwon in the south. From the isolated and secretive society of the Elvaan in the north to the mysterious isles of the Creimire to the east. Ivalice is a world brimming with undiscovered secrets waiting to be uncovered and knowledge to be gained from the races that have been isolated for countless centuries. People from these foreign lands have also come to journey Ivalice for reasons of their own, mingling with others and changing the future of Ivalice.

Today, being an adventurer is a respected profession, on par with the famous Mark hunters. Some dedicate their time to explore dangerous places, while others choose to act as mediators between the different races and factions across Ivalice. Others simply choose to offer their skills in an attempt to gain favor or gold. With the rise in adventurers, some felt the need to organize. This was the birth of Clan Decurion. Their name soon became known far and wide as a group of jack-of-all-trades, journeying to distant lands in search of adventure, treasure and glory.

This is the story of the adventurers of Clan Decurion and their feats across Ivalice.

This is a FFRPG 3e (also known as Returners FFRPG) game based in the Ivalice setting from FFXII and Tactics. Chronologically, it is set after the events of XII and Revenant Wings in an expanded world paying homage to other Final Fantasy games, including as IX, X, XI and XIV. As such, I have made some adjustments to the original system and you will see me referencing a 'wiki' - this can be found here and I recommend using that as a lookup for races, jobs and their abilities, skills and equipment. The most significant changes are referenced here.

I am looking for 4-6 players, depending on party setup, who is up for exploring this version of Ivalice in a sandbox setting that will lead to interesting adventures and plotlines. Considering the setting, most plot hooks will involve exploration and questing, but there's certainly room for some intrigue. I'm also heavily leaning towards characters with backstories that allow me to make plot hooks for character development. Posting rate should be around 3-4 times a week. I am a relatively new GM (though I have run a campaign with this system in this setting before) and I am new to GM'ing PbP games, so please. Bear with me as I learn.

Prior knowledge of any Final Fantasy game is a plus, but certainly not necessary. Neither is it necessary to be familiar with the original Ivalice setting as this will certainly drift from the established storyline. if you're not familiar with the system itself, I'd be happy to help out wherever I can.

The corebook rules of character creation apply - any changes are listed in the Character Creation Guidelines thread on the forums. Characters start at Level 1 with a Job of their choice. Races and Jobs listed on the wiki are all available to characters. Feel free to ask any further questions here or on the forums.

That image you've got on the ad is crazy. Is that official or fan-made?

Also, interested.

Whelp. Time to officially get to work on my character.

Thanks so much for all your hard work. You have no idea how close I was to posting a "Looking for FF GM" thread when I found your thread!

Am considering, but reading up on the thing.

Update time!

If you want a chance at joining this game, this week is the last chance for now. I'll stop accepting new applications on Friday and all applications will need to be finished by Monday.

This book is huge! Is there any ... I don't know ... quick start guides?

Edit: Okay, tried to do this today. Don't know if it's the fever or what but this is way too complex.
