The Lost Mine of Phandelver
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to it’s mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunist to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine. In recent years, people have resettled in the area. Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town. More important, the Rockseeker brothers-a trio of dwarves- have discovered the entranceto Wave Echo Cave, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
Unfortunately for the Rockseekers, they are not the only ones interested in Wave Cave. A mysterious villain known as the Black Spider controls a network of bandit gangs and goblin tribes in the area, and his agents have followed the Rockseekers to their prize. Now the Black Spider wants Wave Echo Cave for himself, and he is taking steps to make sure no one else knows where it is.

Takes place in the Forgotten realms.

Starting Equipment is standard, for whateverclass and background you have.

Choose backgrounds and class as normal.

Hitpoints: Max at level 1, roll for each level after.

Character creation outlines:

Character Class:

Ability Scores:

Description/Personality: (Feel free to describe your character (physically) in any terms you wish. When describing your character’s personality, consider the following questions: How do others view you in social interactions? How optimistic is your character? How trusting? How assertive are you when it comes to making major decisions? How conscientious are you about following rules? How empathetic are you? How courageous are you in dire straits? How do you feel when faced by setbacks? How are your nerves?)

Character Questions:
Step 1: Write 4 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind. 4 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged!

Step 2: List at least two goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.

Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character.

Step 4: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

Party Size: Looking for 6 players.

Other Requirements:
- I want players who give detailed and interesting posts. Not one-liners and blocks of speech text. The rule of three applies here. What is your character thinking, doing and saying.

- Expect your actions to have consequences. Don't be stupid. Play smart. If I give you lots of hints that opening the box will unleash fiery death. Don't open the box and expect to live.

- Unless I tell you otherwise...assume you can play with the scenery to help craft the story.

-I'm going to try to post daily, I expect my players to post at least Semi-daily, or once every two days, if something happens and you can't post, or need to drop the game, just tell us, it's not the end of the world.

Adventure Hook

You can invent your own reasons for your characters for visiting Phandalin, or you can use the default adventure hook provided for Phandelver.
Default Hook: 'Meet Me in Phandalin' The characters are in the city of the Neverwinter when their dwarf patron and friend, Gundren Rockseeker, hires them to escort a wagon to Phandalin. Gundren has gone ahead with a warrior, Sildar Halllwinter, to attend to business in the town while the characters follow with the supplies. The characters will be 10 gold pieces each by the owner of Barthen's Provisions in Phandalin when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.

Characters will start on the path from Neverwinter to Phandalin, escorting a wagon of supplies in the default hook, or possibly meeting on the trail if your character is using a custom one.

This will be my first game that I am DMing, I think I covered most of the information needed, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

And Finally, The application period will last for ten days, ending on July 17th, though I reserve the right to close it earlier if I get alot of them.
