👀 How about that episode of game of thrones....jeesh! (Yes spoilers)

Seasons 1-4 are really excellent. Season 5-7 it morphs into a different show and falls asleep at the wheel. Season 8 is the resulting car crash.

That's because they ran out of source material by falling off the end of the books, and GRRM buggered off to do other things (like writing the penultimate book and collaborating on stuff with From Software) His absence from the show is really obvious.

You mean he can always find work as a detective on some period piece British tv show. It seems all British actors end up doing that.

No, he'll do fine. Once a male actor has a broad female fan base, he will be hired just to draw them out. Bruce Willis from Moonlighting, Pierce Brosnan from Remington Steele, James Van Der Beek from Dawson's Creek, etc- these guys started their careers with 0 male fans but production companies focused on their female draw for future movies and boom! A couple of them really took off!

Pierce Brosnan from Remington Steele.

Thanks - my mom really liked that show. Glad to see someone else was at least aware.

Brosnan would have been James Bond earlier, but he was committed to Remington Steele and couldn't make time to film. So we got Timothy Dalton instead. Hmm...

Timothy Dalton, worst Bond ever.
I grew up with Roger Moore, everyone after him was just bad, until Daniel Craig. Those movies have been really good and rescued a hallowed franchise

Dalton's Bond was one of the closer, more accurate character portrayals of Bond from the Fleming novels.

It's not so much that Dalton was a bad bond I think, just more that he's not a very good actor. There's just something about how he comes across that makes any character he plays seem somewhat dead and hollow.

Brosnan, whilst a fantastic actor (in a limited sense) was just miscast as Bond. Too much the smooth operator to be convincing - would have been much better playing the villain.

Craig's bond however ... very, very good. Gritty, realistic. Seems more true to Fleming's bond than pretty much any of the others.
