"Well, luckily I have flint and steel right here. And a candle!" He pulls all three items out of his pouch and holds them before him.

Lesson Three- Make it About Them!

"Say, do those potions you carry around glow in the dark?"

Magnolia sits there, with a completely innocent and questioning look upon his face.

Missoi rolls his eyes, annoyed. Turning away from the tiefling, he says to Itomo, "Well, there you have it - a light source, whatever its origin. Shall we proceed?"

You continue through the opposite end of the cave into a narrow tunnel, after a minute or so Vortek emerges into another damp room, this room is haphazardly cluttered with broken beds, chairs, wagon wheels, and an assortment of worn, tattered, dingy, and broken objects pilfered or salvaged from 'big folk'. A row of bookcases stands crookedly propped against the far wall, the shelves filled with bits of bone, feathers, and dried centipede legs. Old window frames, cracked and splintered, hang upon the wall like works of fine art.

That's not all that Vortek sees, several angry mites holding rusty knives stare at the intruders and move in to attack!

Upon seeing the little blue fey before him Vortek raises his hand in peace and starts to give them greeting. Before he can even utter a word though several darts fly toward him finding the narrow gaps in his armor. He drops the sunrod as pain hits him. Anger grows in him that these creatures attacked him with no provication. He had hoped to make friends and allies here but it was obvious that they would not allow that to happen. He drew forth his sword and as he prepared to do combat with the vile little creatures an unatural feeling of dread descended upon the paladin. He tried to shake it off but couldn't. He pressed the attack. But horribly missed the creature before him.

Skapti howls, "What? What is it? More bugs?!"

Ignoring Dog's whine of discomfort, Skapti hops on his back. Dog stumbles a bit as Skapti's weight settles.

Gripping his fauchard, Missoi fights the feeling of futility as he watches Vortek swing in vain at the creatures. "Say the word, Vortek, and I'll try to fight my way through their ranks..."

Missoi'll hold off this round to see if Vortek a) asks for help or b) is able to fight through one of them next round.

Magnolia the Scary Horned God

Magnolia tries to peer over everyone's shoulders to see what is going on, but when that fails, squats down and peers through people's legs. Making eye contact with one of the little buggers in the front, he says, "Run little fool, for I am the horned demon god, here to send you to the abyss!" He pauses. "You little blighter."

His voice does sound a bit scary.
