Once Again, the Depths - FR Adventure, looking for replacement player!

Once Again, the Depths - Forum
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e - Forgotten Realms 3.5e
Estimated Members Requested: 1

Deadline is now set for the night of Wednesday, November 21st.

We have lost a player in this game.

They were playing a guide of sorts (jack of all trades, focus on undead slaying).

The group still consists of a paladin, a cleric and a sorcerer.

I will be looking for one player to replace the one we've lost. Applications will be open until a suitable replacement is found. I will review applications and accept a player when I find one that I believe has a character to suit the party and gaming style.

The only requirements are that the character you create be a dwarf male named Wurgrym (first name, last doesn't matter and nicknames are fine). The rest is up to you.

Only "serious" applicants will be considered. In this context, a serious applicant is one who's submission reflects the fact they have actually reviewed the relevant thread in the Rules and Info Thread Group in the game forum.

Please apply in the "Info for Prospective Players - Apply Here" thread in the game forum. Also, see the first post in this thread for more info.

General questions are welcome and can be posted here or via PM.

This is not first come, first serve. The best application, based on character history and character suitability (primarily) will be selected.

Welcome, one and all!

Sorithar (DM; Once Again, the Depths)

Game Description:

Daggerdale has known no true peace for ages and recently drow have been making ever more brazen surface raids in proximity to the town.

You are an adventurer of renown and have traveled the realms for many cycles, making a name for yourself in small hamelts and large cities alike. Now, by the whim of Tymora or the whispers of Helm, you find yourself headed to Daggerdale. On the edge of a new adventure! Will this one be your last or the one that makes your name echo through the ages...

This is my second attempt at running the long City of the Spider Queen module. Let me make no pretenses to the fact that this is an ATTEMPT to run the module. To be fair with those players who wish to apply, I feel I should share that my last attempt failed due to RL issues that I believe no longer pose a problem.
Nevertheless, apply to this game with the knowledge that I can only do as best as RL lets me.

In the end, it was the end.

In reply to the last few players who posted interest...

This is a cut and paste from the thread that closed suddenly.

@ ArnorrofIG:

I read your PM and that concept sounds fine.

Yes, still 10th level, though whomever gets the spot will acquire all of the current character's XP (minus bonus XP granted to the player for their RP) in order to keep everyone roughly at the same pace.

@ tbonejc:

The build ideas sound fine. The group currently lacks a jack-of-all-trades/roguish type and an extra fighter type always welcome. This is not to say that only applications filling those slots will be considered, but all your ideas happen to fit nicely in those voids.

Any player chosen to join will be measured on their own contribution. My only requirement is that the character submitted be a male dwarf named Wurgrym. His speech patterns are all yours if you're accepted.

@ silverwolfer:

Swift Wing is an approved PrC, yes. Do note that there is already a divine caster type in the group though, so your application would have to be particularly good.

@ steampunkadept:

Do I mind..? I'm not sure what you have in mind, so I can't say if I mind. I generally frown on Min-Maxing and the other characters currently in the adventure are based on that preference, but not all min-maxing is created equal, so to speak. If you can give me a better idea of what you had in mind, I could give you a better answer...

@ TheFred:

my head is sadly hurting, can you give a slight descritpion on what your divine is currently doing or specilizing in. I think I can use faiths and patheons PRC choice, to be very exact and different from the flavor already in your party.

@ Silverwolfer:

I believe you would categorize the current priest as a ranged/buffing/divine caster type.

WindWalker , Scout

Faiths and Pantheons

It is a prc that follows this guy

It was meant as a Ranger/Cleric PRC that go towards discovering places and revealing secrets, for no central reason it has a racial restriction of humans and half elfs.

@ Silverwolf:

Thank you.

As a general rule, the clergy, as opposed to the worshipers, of a given god in the Forgotten Realms tend to belong to the race who's pantheon that god belongs to. Half-elves being the one general exception (as they tend to worship the pantheon closest to their dominant parent's racial pantheon). As such, and in trying to keep to the flavour of the campaign setting, I'd prefer to stick with these racial restrictions.

If you can give me a good, logical and tasteful reason why I should make an exception, I'll certainly consider it.

The only easy answer I can give you is a follower of this god during one of his random travels ended up among the chult and influenced the wild dwarves in some way , which said dwarves are natural rangers and such.

As for the random traveling am talking about, on Shaun's holy day they all get transformed into air/wind shape and randomly blown about to a place they have never been before, by the gods will.
