Game Description

(The campaign utilizes a series of countries, designed and loosely based off of the mid 17th century England, France, and Spain. Thematically, it is a variation of both the predominant tales of musketeers and the story-line presented through the games such as Assassin’s Creed I, II, etc. Religion plays a significant role in this game, and as a result, I am intending to set the predominant religion in the game as Catholicism. As a disclaimer, this is purely fiction and does not reflect upon my beliefs or lean towards any type of religious bias/assumptions that may be present with any existent religion. I am simply choosing the hierarchy of Pope, Cardinals, etc, in order to add more variance and flavor to the story and concept.)

Several voices echoed through the corridors of the Hôtel Dieu, the sounds of metal and armaments shuffled throughout the various halls of the westernmost wing. As the sounds became more overbearing, the cloaked man hastily took refuge within one of the open rooms. Guards quickly surveyed the relative area and began to search each of the rooms one by one, splitting up their forces in order to cover more ground.

Opening the door slightly, one of the guards had ventured into the empty patient room. The smell of blood-soaked cloth and various medicinal herbs concealed the wafts of poison still emanating from the cloaked man’s short-blade. He remained ever-motionless as the guard began to search the various prospective hiding spots within the hospital room. Stepping away from the door, the cloaked figure shifted about the clutter of the room, using the window drapes as a means of concealment until he could reach the door.

Pausing in thought, the man slowly shut the door and moved along the shadows of the room, cast by the overhanging archways on the outside walls of the building. As the guard turned in response to the doors creak, a faint gasp escaped from his lips as a blade hastily found its resting place along his upper vertebrae. Panic took hold the lightly armored guard, as the lifeblood slowly dripped from his neck, onto the floor beneath him. “Ne crains pas le sommeil sans fin. Pour l'instant vous pourrez vous reposer en paix.” The cloaked figure whispered, before removing his cloak and wrapping around the now deceased guard.

In French - Fear not the endless sleep. For now you will rest in peace.

Making his way to the door, the assassin assessed his surroundings, making note of the window leading out towards an expansive lake. He opened the door and spoke urgently, gruffing his voice slightly as if to mask his own accents. “Quickly, I found the assassin! He is escaping out the window!” He yelled convincingly before tossing the cloaked guard out the open window and into the water. In frantic action, the guards quickly responded to the alert, searching for ways out towards the lake in order to obtain the man responsible for demise of Captain Francis d’Luc.

As the now disturbed hospital is left vacant by the sudden insurgence of the guards, the assassin contemplated his next course of actions before escaping once more into the city. “I need to inform D’Artagnan about the apple before it is too late… else he is walking into a trap.” He thought to himself, reaffirming the urgency of his mission.
