Every police department has them. Cops who are a little be off, who always fall on the wrong side of their superiors, or hit one pothole or another in their careers. They are the laughingstocks, the scapegoats, and the disgraced. They get shuffled out of the deck and filed way, shoved together into the last place that will take them. In the Blackbird County of Montana, that place is the Sheriff's Department.
The BCSD is given the crap cases, the kinds that ruin careers or are just too demeaning to frost onto Ďrealí cops. Grave robbers, yeti sightings, and crop circles are the norm. But, occasionally what is going on isnít just another hoax. Sometimes the ghosts are real, the vampires arenít teenagers playing dress up, and the witches arenít peaceful Wiccans. And someone has to deal with them. Within the Sheriff's Department, there is a special unit, known as the Black Cats, who handles these cases. And these are their files.
