Game Description

Pokemon: Tabletop Adventures.

A long time ago, there existed a region north of Kanto, called Illanten. The Ranger, Boltage McGammar, gathered friends and allies, and began the exploration and settlement of uncharted lands that led to it's founding. While Boltage founded and led these efforts from his town of Boltville, Those he had gathered spread forth, some even managing to set up gyms. For a while, things went well. However, the characters that Boltage and his new region had gathered were questionable. Ranging from 'altered humanoids' to small round creatures and flat out stranger beings, the Pokemon League began keeping tabs on these 'oddballs', especially since some of these characters had ties to criminal organizations.

Now, much later, the region of Illanten is covered in snow. Most of the people that once inhabited the region are dead or left long ago. Those that still live there live in isolated communities, scavenging what supplies they can, or so you believe, as it‘s the way you live. You are a young member of a lone village on the chilly coast of Illanten, near the ruins of old Boltville. The world you live in is inhabited by strange monsters; the elders say that once man walked with these creatures, helping them bring out their inner potential, growing stronger with them. These people were known as trainers, and they traveled their homelands seeking fame, fortune, or to simply be the best. Such ideas were just idle fantasy to you though; while you know your village rituals and customs, you never dreamed that you would do such a thing.

You have been raised knowing, however, that the great beast known as Stormcrow appears every so often. During these times, the village must send forth trainers to try and combat the oncoming storms. While the goal is for them to end the eternal winter that covers your land, none of managed that. However, thanks to their efforts, the village enjoys survival. While you‘ve seen the harshness of the blizzard seasons, strangely, the worse seems to happen just outside the village‘s borders. Some elders, however, have been saying that Stormcrow appears every 50 years, and that soon he will appear again. Your parents ignored them, some not believing, having never seen him; some simply not willing to believe they could have to send their children away.

As the most recent blizzard season cleared and the early calms came, one of the best seasons to gather berries and such in this weather was upon you; you prepared to help your village forage and hunt, but such things were cut short. Stormcrow as predicted, appeared. His large crescent shaped horn and dark coat, he stood proudly near the village on all four legs. You had seen some of the mysterious creatures in the woods, but never up close, and never this big. As the creature walked away, your world, and life, was turned upside down. Parents wept, hunters and gatherers hurried to prepare, and the elders prepared you; Taught you more of the old lore, and told you what they hey been told to pass along; That you should head for the ruins of old Boltville. It would be there that you could start your journey.

After two weeks of preparation, packing, and learning, your small group of children are ready to be sent out into the world, as was the tradition in older times. You are the 5th such group to be sent out like this. You are each packed with enough food to get you through two weeks, so you‘ll have to learn how to get more out in the world with what you know. You've also each been gifted three spray bottles of 'medicine' which is apparently for the creatures? You aren't really sure.

So far, your only lead as to what to do is the old ruins. Somewhere in the ruins you‘ve been told you‘ll find your first partner and an old device to help you keep track of this friend and many more. Whatever that means.

(I'll PM you each with character creation reminders/details, as well as for other information I'll want. I guess for character sheets you'll want to 'make extras' of the PDFs, which can be downloaded separately from the original link. Once everyone has put their opening post here, we'll get started.)

(Further notes I forgot to add, RESTRICTED CLASSES!

League Battler
Groomer
Snagger
Coordinator And it's Advanced Classes
Detective

these classes don't really fit in the world theme, due to it's isolation and lack 'true' gyms. and that's all I'll say for now on that.)
