Game Description

The rain was coming down in thick heavy sheets and lightning shot through the sky at regular intervals. The streets were all but deserted; only the bravest of Seattle’s night owls felt like braving the weather to make it to their preferred watering holes and clubs this night. One individual, however; was out working this night. His name (for now) was Brayon Vek, he was an Orc, and he had a reputation to protect. Despite a full length trench coat and baseball cap, he was still soaked down to the bone; and he’d been outside for less than five minutes. He quickened his pace a little as he neared his destination: an open lot parking area on the edge of Downtown. There, in the corner of the lot, sat a nondescript black Toyota Elite which he walked up to and got into the passenger side as if he owned it.

“Downright piss’en out there,” Brayon said as he took off his cap and ran a hand through his soaked hair.

“Do you have it?” The vehicles driver asked. He was middle aged, Caucasian, human; he was dressed in a semi-expensive business suit and despite the time, a large pair of sunglasses. His voice carried the most unusual timbre to it; Brayon couldn’t quite place it, it was subtle but unnerving, and it sent a shiver down his spine.

“You tell me,” The Orc said, pulling a tiny plastic baggie with a data wafer in it from inside his coat. When the driver reached for it, Brayon pulled it back, “You have my payment?”

The suit withdrew a cred stick from within his own jacket and handed it over in return for the wafer. As Brayon went about checking the balance on the stick with his ‘link, the driver produced an older model commlink that had obviously been modified and slotted the wafer into it.

“It what you were looking for?” Brayon asked as he watched the man next to him actually take the time to manipulate the ‘link with his hands and read what came up on the device’s tiny screen.

“Have you looked at this?” The man asked, ignoring the Orcs previous question.

“Nope, just like you said. As soon as I got it and was told what it was, I called you,” Brayon answered.

The suit stared at the little screen for several long moments before pulling the wafer out and stuffing in into his jacket, “We’re done here.”

“Whatever you say omae,” Brayon said, stuffing his cap back on. He wasn’t looking forward to walking back to his flat, but he was happy he had made so much on such a simple job, and was even happier to be away from the creepy suit.

After the Orc was out of the car and halfway across the lot, the suit opened up an encrypted AR window in front of his face and typed out a message using only his mind.

We have a lead. Instructions?

He had to wait almost a minute for a reply.

How good is the information?

90%

The next reply came back much quicker

Have someone look into it.
