Game Description

The Imperial Army is so numerous that scientific notation is the best method to describe its numbers in terms that a sentient mind can comprehend. The entire population of Imperial Center could be drafted from the lowliest spice addict all the way up to the Emperor and it would still only account for a Sector Army or two. It's history might be short, but it has heroes and legends just as plentiful as the Republic Army that it replaced. Figures of honour, discipline and integrity that are the bulwark defending the Galactic Empire from threats without and within.

This is not their story.

The Outer Rim is a tenuous place, with Imperial control holding only in pockets, and weakly at that. Space teems with smugglers, pirates and rebels and the intrepid Imperal Navy that chases them down. The only people stupid enough to want to set foot on Dagoola V are the grunts of the Imperial Army.

Dagoola V is a hot, wet world teaming with life. The local tree-analogs cover 95% of the land, and the rest is cleared only due to the efforts of the Zabrak colonists to make land for their herds. The hunting's good, if you like prey that hunts you right back, and the rainy season is pleasant only in comparison to the polite fiction that is the dry season. Or as the locals call it 'Parasites'. Dagoola V is close enough to major trade lanes that a garrison to make sure pirates didn't set up camp on it managed to sound appealing to the Senate, before it was dissolved. And thanks to the bureaucratic inertia of the Empire, the order to garrison it hasn't been rescinded, to the lasting chagrin of Colonel Bluewater.

The Dagoola V garrison is one of those places where the soldiers that are just big enough screwups to be irritating but not quite big enough screwups to be drummed out of the service wind up. Petty thieves, the barrack room con men, the thinkers and complainers all find their way to almost forgotten posts like Dagoola V. Those that have to go 'outside the shield' are the ones that are screwups enough to irritate even a chronically depressed alcoholic like Colonel Bluewater.

Which is how you've found yourselves assigned to Forward Post 15. The optimistically named 'Enhanced Squad 20' is better described as a loose mixing bag of troopers from multiple squad types, assigned more due to the Colonel's current level of irritation towards you than due to any particular need at FP15. The locals aren't cooperative, but for the most part they aren't violent either. To the extent that the rebel scum are even aware of Dagoola V it's to be glad that they're not stuck on it and some of the Imperial Army is.

You get just enough supplies to know that Command hasn't forgotten you yet, but not quite enough that you still don't think it now and then. What heavy equipment you're lucky enough to have probably dates back to the Clone Wars. There isn't much to do other than go slowly mad and watch the locals perform inappropriate acts on their livestock. But hey, each day brings you closer to the end of your hitch, and no one is going to remember someone assigned to Dagoola V when it comes time to apply the Imperial Military Stop Loss Order.
