Game Description

On a million, million worlds across thousands of light years of space, humanity fights endlessly for his survival against aliens, heretics, and daemons. From the blood-drenched mud of frontier worlds to the cold depths of space, the innumerable armies of the Imperium of Man are at constant war with the galaxy, fighting threats from without, from within, and from beyond.

Whether by choice or chance, these men and women are inducted into the God-Emperor’s armies, trained to fight and sent off to far flung stars and systems to hold the line against the coming night. Whatever their origins, whatever their reasons or training, they are the thin line that protects the Imperium from complete and utter destruction. Despite overwhelming opposition, or perhaps because of it, they are bound to each other by a code of brotherhood and honour. They are the Imperial Guard.

The mining world of Hervara is beset by war, ravaged by the conflict between the Severan Dominate and the Imperium of Mankind. Throughout their tour of Hervara the Guardsmen will experience the tragedy of war and the harsh consequences of their own actions. While fighting savagely against a variety of enemies and tread carefully amidst powers beyond their reckoning. In Final Testament, the players will constantly be challenged to innovate and overcome unusual obstacles, even as they strive to uphold the honor of the Imperial Guard—and perhaps even survive.

System: Only War.
Sourcebooks: Hammer of the Emperor, Enemies of the Imperium.

Final Testament will be my first time GM'ing via Myth-Weavers and my first PnP attempt at a Play-By-Post, thus I ask people to excuse my relative inexperience with this form of playing, though I do have a large amount of experience with the 40k RPG line and roleplaying in general (as well as freeform 'story' roleplays via message boards).

Despite the combat focus of Only War, I am still interested in players who are willing to actively roleplay than rollplay. The concerns given to me during the early planning stages with regards to too much roleplay has been taken on board, however players should still expect some form of interaction amongst each other and NPCs rather than just blindly shooting them in the face (unless they're foul xenos obviously). Combat will of course have a large part to play given the nature of the game, it just won't be the only thing occurring.

There will be restrictions on certain Specialist classes as elaborated upon in the forum. I would highly encourage players to create Guardsmen characters given the theme of the game however I'm not going to stop you playing Specialists either.
