Game Description

This game takes place in my own homebrew world of Mahakalia [Ma-hak-alia]

This world has an entire history behind it, the players need only delve into a book to find the rich history. The settings page contains most of the recent things which might of affected your characters. Beyond that, I expect players and characters to inquire and ask. The main hook of this world lies in four points, the first being one of the best.

Races in this world are diverse and there are many 'monstrous' races which have found their place in the world. Raine, one of the colonized continents, has Mouse-Folk, Cat-Folk, Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings, Tengu, Half-Dragons, Orcs, Kobolds, Aasimar and a few other scattered races. Sylvia, the other colonized continent is inhabited by many Fae creatures, and divergent types of some of the races. Cat-Folk are known as Mithra on this continent and have different class features. Humans, are known as Humes and while still varied in nature, they have adapted to the continents lifestyle. Other creatures who live in Slyvia include Faries, Viera(Rabbit-Folk), Naga and the race of the rulers, Kitsune.

The world itself is a mystery to be unraveled. Several continents and islands stand uncharted. Only recently advances in technology have allowed for star charts to be made, and from them the oceans were charted. Secrets may lie at the bottom of the ocean, the tops of mountains and in the middle of untamed jungles. When not saving the world (or trying to) there's always something to do.

Magic is a mystery which is lost on most folk in the world. Humans short life spans make it hard for them to master the art until their waning years. Elves have always had a natural knack for magic, and their long lives allow them to master it. Arcane magic is not unknown to common folk, they simply cannot use it, and are mesmerized by most level 2+ spells. A very small portion of the world are arcane casters. However, even smaller still is the people of mind, Psions. There are no guilds, no schools nothing for psions. They are, largely, unorganized and scattered. Most don't even recognize their potential. Divine casting is largely unaffected, as it is peoples faith which gives them power.

Lastly, and the major plot within the world, is the fact that a near 21 year old prophecy is said to be put into motion soon. Most people from your continent (Sylvia) either do not know of this prophecy, or have long forgotten about it. There are only two words which have been given with the prophecy, 'Darkness Rises.' and with that, preparations for war against an unknown force began in the human nation of Solia in Raine. Over the past 20 years the building fervor has nearly died out. Was it all for nothing?

Characters should be heroes or noteworthy people in the world. They should probably have some notion of royal going-ons. Working for the Royal family is a possibility, so is being a distant part of it. Ultimately, I will find a way to wrap you all up in the main story, but not tie you to it.
