The Game:
This will be a Game of Thrones variant of the Song of Ice and Fire RPG, with a new House creation system to let people play what kind of house they want, rather than getting some poor rolls and having to bite the bullet or not play. They can be found in the forums under the Rules banner. These rules belong to Gamer Gig (a user on here) and all credit goes to him for them. He's been kind enough to let me use them.
While it's not the same as what's in the rule book, it's a more stable way to build a house and gives control to the players rather than chance.
The Setting:
It is currently 283AL, and the Robert's Rebellion is in full swing. The battles of Summerhall, Ashford, and the Bells have all be fought to their canonical conclusions, with the Battle of the Trident currently under way. As for your houses, it's up to you where you are located in Westeros, and it's up to you how your house feels about the war. However, note that there will be consequences to your choice of Realm and Loyalty in any case.
The North is almost entirely empty of fighting men, with all houses having traveled south to join Ned Stark in the war.
The Iron Islands have remained silent throughout the whole ordeal. Some houses may have thoughts to either side, but they've yet to act on them.
The Vale was initially split in it's loyalties, with some of them siding with the King and some of them siding with Robert. At this point the majority of the Vale have sided with the rebels.
After marriages to both House Stark and House Arryn were arranged, House Tully of the Riverlands joined the rebels side, though like in the Vale, not all are as accepting of the cause, and so some remain loyalists.
In the west, Lord Tywin remain has remained neutral in the war, though he has called his banners and is now preparing to march.
The Stormlands have all heeded their Lieges call, though a couple may hold resentment.
In the Reach, House Tyrell and their bannerman have sided almost exclusively with the King and the Crownlands.
Although reluctant, House Martel of Dorn have also sided with the King and the Crownlands.
