A Touch of Vengeance
Everyone has secrets.
Some are trivial and embarrassing, some are hurtful and humiliating, but it's those dread secrets that will get you killed that are the most dangerous of all. The richer and more powerful a person is, the more secrets they'll have that will ruin them and the harder they'll work to keep them hidden. Cross them and they will not forget. Your name will be fixed in their memory, for they have a reputation to maintain and you've earned their wrath. Threaten their power base and they will wipe you off the map and then sit down for dessert. Discover their secrets and threaten to expose them for who they really are and they'll come after you with a vengeance, intent on silencing your voice for good.
For the really ambitious and ruthless of these men and women, that means killing anyone who stands in their way, including the innocent folk whose only crime is being a friend or lending a helping hand. You can either choose to fight and die, or run and die another day, for if you know something that no one else should ever know they will come after you, and they will find you eventually, and then you will have a choice: do you endanger others by telling them what you know? Or keep them in the dark and hope that their ignorance will protect them from the fate which now awaits?
