The Long Watch
The Deathwatch have stood the test of time among the Jericho Reach, after formally leaving the Jericho Sector during the Age of Shadow and the Age of Apostasy, the ever vigilant Deathwatch which has stood the various threats of xeno and chaos infestations upon the worlds of the Jericho Sector. This Long Watch has stood the test of time as Tau and their sympathizers bring new technologies and faith to the former Imperial colonized worlds. The Hive Fleet Dagon have spread their corrupted xeno seed through replicating the hostile xeno lifestyle and prepare for immediate war upon the home front to the eastern fringes of the sector. But not all is lost, the High Lords of Terra have regrouped and have decreed that the Jericho Reach be taken back by the Imperial Army including Imperial Guardsmen, the Battlefleet Navy and the Adeptus Astartes. This crusade has been dubbed the Achilus Crusade by confidential decrees of the High Lords of Terra.
It was because of the Jericho Maw Warp Gate, that the High Lords based a return to the sector to take back the worlds the Imperial Inquisitions have lost. The Maw Warp Gate is a conduit warp flow that has and can transport members of the Emperor's children to and from the Calixis Sector but has remained in relative secrecy from insurgent chaos reavers and heretics and most sentient forms of hostile xeno life. If the Jericho Maw Warp Gate were ever to be found and lost to any threating incursion or breach of real space, whole sectors and planet lie could fall right behind the tactical invasion forces. A centrifugal domino effect ensues and the fall of man could be at hand.
