Return to the Stars
This area was once claimed by a great Empire which was run by an Emperor and his Senate. However, many centuries ago, the Emperor died and a great civil war swept across the Galaxy. Planets of humans and humanoids waged war on each other in an attempt to claim control of the Empire. Whole planets were laid waste too. Communication collapsed, cities were ruined, and planets went into isolation, forced or otherwise. Mankind suffered a diaspora from their home-world of Terra and the Empire collapsed upon itself.
Now, after centuries of the galaxy suffering through a Dark Age, people have returned to the stars and rediscovered each other in small increments. Technology is often at the very basic levels. Many factions have equipment they have scavenged and managed to get working, but no idea on how to build anew. The Empire used to be hundreds of planets, but the Dark Age brought all that to an end. Are you going to rebuild the Old Empire or start your own? The vastness of space, as well as the mystery remain yours to explore and conquer. However, you are not alone in the coldness of space.
