Game Description

— I'm a Lawful Evil GM. I play my monsters true to their character. Some are dumb. Many aren't.
— Think about your actions before you take them. Everything has consequences (some are good, some bad).
— Don't walk into a city armed for a dungeon crawl. The locals won't take kindly.
— Things such as Identification/Travel Papers, Food, and other Mundane things are important to me.
— Every different locale has different customs and laws. It's a good idea to ask about them.
— Most cities/villages/towns are warded magically. Don't assume you can teleport into them, or other things.
— My commoners are optimized. Assume everything/one is.
— I'm fond of Rich Burlew's (Giant in the Playground)

Basics: Only Bluff Synergy, DC 15+Level of highest NPC + Best Wisdom mod in "group"
Relation: +/- 2/5/7/10 Intimate/Friend/Neutral/Acquaintance/Enemy/Personal Foe/Nemesis
Incentive: +/- 0/5/10 Fantastic/Favorable/Even/Unfavorable/Horrible
Diplomacy Rules.
— The most successful adventurers are fairly optimized. Note: If you break things, I break YOU.
— Don't try and sneak things past me. Be up front about it.
— If you see something you like in a homebrewed source, ask me if something similar exists in regular material. It might!
— Most NPCs have 6 class levels or less and are NPC classes, I'll use 'class names' for non-PC-Class characters frequently.
Character Creation:
— Sources: All Official WotC 3.5/3.0 Updated Books/Web. No 3rd Party/Homebrew.
Dragon Magazine Compendium Vol. 1 is OK
A select suite of Dragon/Dungeon Magazine material will be used by me. This material is ONLY used for accurate 3.5 updates of older material and errata. Don't Ask for things unless it's a specific 3.5 conversion or an errata.
No Dragon/Dungeon Magazine.
— Setting: Grand Unified D&D Universe. (Any setting in the listed material is fine.) I use the "Great Wheel".
— 36,000 XP to spend however you want. (Level 9), 40 Point Buy, Max HP + CON each level.
— 2 Flaws, 2 Traits (NO HOMEBREW)
— Standard WBL (36,000 GP)
— Affiliations/Organizations/Magic Locations/and other weird stuff - Just ask me.
— Printed Adaptations in approved sources: Ask me about them and I will work out details with you in private.
— Leveling up doesn't just happen. You must train for 1d4 days/level (what this training consists of varies by class)
— You can PM me with a well written and thought out case for why something is actually mechanically broken and we can talk.
— Rebuilding & Retraining from PHB2 is allowed, and handled as per the book.
— NO EXCEPTIONS

Table [Exalted] 0 » [Good] 1 » Good 2 » Neutral 3 » Evil 15 » [Evil] 20 » [Vile]/UA Taint 25
— These tables are not exhaustive, just guidelines.

Leadership
— Cohort(s) get PC Class(es) & Elite Array. Followers get Nonelite Array & NPC Classes (No Multiclassing).
— HP = Half HD, track fractions
— NPC WBL (You may grant them items from your Main Character's WBL) Followers have NPC÷10 WBL
— No "Special Power" unless obtained IC or specifically stated by a class feature/etc.
— Cohorts may have NOT Leadership/Spawn/Etc. No one can have a subordinate a higher level than themselves by any means.
— No Statblock? Doesn't exist. Not in the Statblock? Doesn't exist.

Rebuking/Commanding/Animating Anything
— If you want to start with anything under your command, you'd better have paid for it with WBL.
— Want to start with an army of undead? You better have paid for them or took Undead Leadership.

Planar Binding and Etc.
— Remember that you're forcibly calling a sentient life-form from another plane and it's controlled by your DM.
— It/they have powerful friends.
— Multiple Planar Binding-type effects don't stack with themselves. (I.E. Greater + Lesser Stack, but not 2 Greaters/Lessers.)

Other Minions
— Abilities are 10s/11s as in printed statblocks and only WBL in their statblock.
— Mercenaries/Hirelings: Try the DMG and the AEG for pricing. If they're not listed as having gear, they don't have it.
— Animals/pets: Either find an exact price in an approved source (try the AEG or Warbeast from MMII), or you can't have it
Base Price:
CR (Minimum 1) + Ability Modifier total (Minimum 0) + Template Tax » ^2 ×100 GP

Template Tax: +1 per template

Type Modifier to CR: Humanoid ×1; Monstrous humanoid, 1½ ; Fey/Giant ×2; Aberration ×3; Elemental ×4; Outsider ×5
Shapechanger/Dragonblood Subtype, ×1½; Incorporeal Subtype, ×2½

Example: Level 1 Commoner Orc with 18 Strength/Dex and pitiful mental stats (0 total mod).
CR ½ » 1. 1^2 = 1 » ×100 » 100 gp

Example: Acidborn Aquatic War Troll, Monstrous Humanoid (CR 13), +23 total Ability Mod, 2 Templates = 144,400 GP.
Pricing for Slaves/Corpses/Etc
— Slaves/Etc have 0 WBL, and are most likely hostile towards you.
— 15,000+ GP cannot be purchased

Special Rules
— Magic is heavily controlled by Mage's Guilds and local governments. Expect strict laws on usage in cities and towns.
— Spells have names, and learned people know them. The "language of magic", when I use it, will be ʇdıɹɔsdıןɟ.
— Anything resembling Wish may not be used in any way to create/augment/etc anything worth more than 15,000 GP.
— Wish items and other Instantaneously created items are worthless.
— Most magic items under 15,000 GP are worthless to sell back (¼ Price). They're just too easy to get.
— Most items over 15,000 GP will be bartered for with other items. Meaning you cannot go to the store and buy them normally.
— Custom Magic Items: No new effects. You may breakdown complex items and combine existing items, but no new mechanics.
— There are no "Greater Effects" for Wish/Miracle/etc.
— The Candle of Invocation does not exist.
— I will allow the Hexblade fix that was made by one of the developers if you can find it and show it to me.
— Truename DCs go up by 1 per level instead of 2, and the DC to effect a creature is CR+15 (or ECL for PC/Cohorts)
— No shenanigans to get infinite anything.
Massive Damage: CON Threshold, DC 15 +1 per 5 Damage over CON, round down. Fail = Fatigue > Exhaustion > Set to -1d10 HP
— UA Weapon Groups
— Most Variations/Adaptations exist.
— Healing = Necromancy
Contacts +1 per point of Charisma
Reputation
— 100% Psionic/Magic Transparency. Skills are separate though.
SRD/UA Action Points
— I use the Savage Species Type-Tree
— Large Battles use a hodgepodge of Heroes of Battle & Miniatures Handbook
— Simulacrum & Ice Assassin have the material component as a Target of the spell instead.
— Skills can be enhanced by 1 SPELL/POWER/SLA at a time. Multiple items are fine, just only one spell/etc.
— Astral Projection doesn't give you free charges of anything.
— Evasion does not interact with Starmantle or anything like it.
— A Disjoined item is valued at it's material components cost and may be used as the material components to re-create it.
365 Days/Year; 24 Hours/day; 60 Minutes/Hour; 60 Seconds/Minute; 6 Seconds/Round

1 "Week" with regards to spells and duration = 10 days

Written calendars by settings are differently denoted in some cases. That is due to local astrological errors and has no mechanical difference in the game.

This Map is for General Labelling-marking large swathes of land.
This Map is more detailed, allowing for intricate details.

All continents are to-scale on an Earth sized world.
Thank you to TheOasysMaster for fixing these maps for me.

The Tomb of Horrors is one of the most iconic and deadly D&D modules ever made. Gary Gygax created it because people said his other modules weren't hard enough. This is the official 3.5 update of that module. This is a puzzle-heavy dungeon crawl with minimal plot. Should the party survive, there are plans for what lies beyond.
