If at First You Don't Succeed
A serenity campaign set shortly after the events on Miranda in the movie Serenity.
Characters will start at greenhorn level (42) with all standard rules being applied for character creation at that heroic level. Items marked in the book as requiring gm approval require my approval.
Moderations will be made weekly, or more often if everyone has posted. The more descriptive you are in your posts the more generous I am with advancement points at the end of a chapter.
Because there are themes of sexuality prevalent in this setting with the legal presence of "Companions" I expect everyone to be mature and accepting when situations involving such characters and events arise. Those who aren't will be kicked.
Each accepted player should be expected to create and pm names and concepts behind 3 of their contacts, allies/friends, and enemies. I will handle their stats. I do this in my table top games and find that having NPCs that the characters actually already know something about makes it much easier on both the GM and the players when coming up with the dialog and reactions during encounters with them. It also makes it easier to generate interesting plot hooks.It has only been a few months since the results of the Alliances attempts at pacifying a populace has been revealed to the 'verse, and the public backlash has been staggering. The Alliance propaganda machine has been in full swing ever since, performing damage control and trying to regain lost support of the public. Their attempts seem to be working fairly well in the core, as people begin to forget the events that did not directly affect them and continue on about their lives.
However, rumors are flying that the Browncoats are reforming in secret, trying to gather the equipment and people needed to retake the system. If it can happen on Miranda, it can happen anywhere.
