Game Description

The StoryOn the world of Lysos (lye-Sohss), centuries of shaky peace in the human-controlled Sezonn continent have been brought down after one of the nobles falls ill under mysterious circumstances, leaving no adult heir. As a result, the other three nobles have begun preparing for a civil war to absorb his territory into their own. Lord Ephraim Vynntre's chief adviser has made an open call to any adventurers or mercenaries to come to the capital of Vynntre's lands in the north of Sezonn. Lack of bandit activity and large enemies in the north has made the army complacent. The adviser hopes some experienced adventurers can help train them for the coming war...

The RegionThe Sezonn continent has been commanded by four human families for countless centuries.
In the in the forested and frosty north, the Vynntre (vin-Ter) family with their castle and buildings of heavy, dark stone rules. The current head of the family is the elderly Ephraim, trying to find a suitor for his young granddaughters (Ylse and Frida) in order to leave heirs to the throne. It is he who has fallen ill with a degenerative mental illness.
Fahl, co-ruled by the brothers Arin and Aric, and Verran, ruled by the Lone Queen Lillis, split the vast plains in the continent's center. Lillis has much kept to herself in her manor for many long years, while the adventurous brothers are rarely in their own capital city long enough to pass laws. Fahl's cities are composed of low structures, their interiors being mostly underground to better weather the storms. Verran's buildings stand tall in comparison, Lillis's magic protecting them from the cruel weather.
Finally, his cities of marble and ivory hugging the border of the vast desert waste in the south, Abram Somer rules with wisdom and might.

The WorldLysos is the only planet of ten in the "life zone" of Kannta's light. (Kannta is the system's yellow sun.) It has two satellites, the greyish-white Forror's Lantern, and the green-yellow Orkhed. Lysos has two island continents and one super-continent - Sezonn. While the planet revolves around its sun, the south pole is always pointed towards the sun, while the north pole is always pointed away from the sun. A full "day" on Lysos is approximately twenty-seven hours, with daytime and nighttime hours being roughly thirteen and a half hours each at the equator. The closer to the north pole one travels, the longer the nights, while the reverse is true the further one travels south. While the human regions dominate the habitable areas of Sezonn, there are several non-human populations.

SezonnSezonn is a vast super-continent spanning and containing both geographic poles of the planet. At the north pole are the Frozen Wastes - a huge tundra filled with the monolithic ruins of an age gone by. At the south pole sits the Great Desert - a lifeless area of sand and stone; somewhere in the middle of this desert is an area entirely devoid of magic. Given the tilt of the planet, the central, most habitable area of Sezonn is subject to storms of epic proportions, with the plains taking the brunt of these.

RacesHuman: Humans are, by far, the most populous of the races on Lysos. They are found in all habitable regions of Sezonn.

Aasimar: Significant Celestial influence in Sezonn's past and present has spawned more than a few aasimar on Lysos.

Tiefling: Significant Diabolic influence in Sezonn's past and present has also spawned more than a few tieflings on Lysos.

Elf: Elves are something like pariah on Sezonn. They live mostly around the edges of the Great Desert on the South Pole. There's rumor that elves are also the sole inhabitants of one of the island continents.

Half-Elf: Half-elves are a very uncommon race in Sezonn and nearly unheard-of outside the bounds of Somer's cities.

Dwarf: Dwarves on Lysos are extremely xenophobic. They live in underground mine-cities along the borders of the Frozen Wastes in the North Pole, but know well enough to stay away.
