Game Description

Greetings Citizen of the World. I am Black_Valor, and eye see everything.

Setting: You the player are a member of one of three factions. These factions, at war with one another, are the controlling interests of the world we play in. The World we play in is known as "The City" which is generic and vague, specifically so, based on the wonderful City of Roses, Portland Oregon.

A note on the world. The world is the players enemy, you do roll for everything unless it is a mundane task. If you wish to do something without a roll I will interpret the wording you use to achieve this action and roll for you.

We will be using the Basic Role Playing system in a world of PvPvE
PvE is Player Versus Environment - in this the reaction is on the environment. The player uses a skill the environment counters this is to ensure the flow of the game. Luck can save you from the tightest spot, but it can also outright kill you.
PvP is Player Versus Player - in this, the person with the highest agility is the aggressor, unless they are ambushed. This is an extremely lethal interaction in BRP.
PvPvE - Should Rival factions meet in a "neutral" setting the environment will react to both aggressors.

The Factions are as Follows.

The Keepers are of balance, information is their tool, tradecraft is their game. They are preservers of information and believe in the philosophical reformation of humanity. The Keeper's are often known as Thieves, Spies and Assassins. This is not to say they are the only thieves, spies or assassins, merely that they respect each other as such.

Keepers are neither forces of Chaos nor Order. Keepers Circumvent the Builders through tradecraft, theft, and assassination. Using the technologies and monies of the Builders to combat the Pagans from destroying The City.

This Faction cannot use magic in a traditional sense but has access to equipment that may seem magical.

The Builders are an Order, they work tirelessly in service of the Master Builder. They are collectors of materials, and believe in the value of a good days work. Builders are often known as Hammers, Machinists, and Soldiers. This is not to say they are the only ones of their kind, merely that they respect each other as such.

Builders are the force of Order, and combat the pagans through religious persecution, legalism, and the hammer. They combat those who would destroy order through similar means.

This faction can use magic through runes and invocations of the master builder though it is limited.

Pagans are not an order, for they represent Chaos they are an Occult following, humans who have given themselves over to the Darkness and accepted it's power to achieve the goal of freedom at all costs. Pagans are possessed of magical abilities and supernatural powers that the other factions do not have. However, they lack resources and followings in a traditional sense and are vilified by all civilized folk. Pagans do not know each other by anything, and likely will not adhere to similar goals as they are leading their own battle against civilization.

Pagans combat the forces of Order through acts of terror and cripple society and spread the influence of their dark gods. Pagans also combat the forces of Balance because Balance accepts the evils of currency and the rule of law.

This faction uses magic as a tool for its ends. It is not uncommon for Pagans to have supernatural powers beyond mortal comprehension.

Tools of the trade:
Thickness - We're going to have to get along there will certainly be disagreements; let us become thick as thieves
Hardiness - The ability to take criticism and adapt to it.
Endurance - The game may slow to a snails pace occasionally, this is to our benefits as it means we've come to the learning process.
Creativity - it's a must, but that's why we're here right?
Research - if we're going to play a game of traps and riddles and legerdemain lets research it together
Art - you don't have to be Michelangelo; if you've played the games you know what I mean - a sketch on a piece of paper can be very rough and yet extremely informative.
Friendliness - The other half of this is that we will need to be able to invite others into it, because we will eventually run out of material
Teaching - the new people won't be as skilled as us, let's teach them to be a master thief as well.

This is what you must agree to:

Source Origination Accountability Enterprise - you must be productive for charity. Meaning that anyone and everyone with an internet connection, I was going to say planet earth but I feel that the aliens may be offended by that, can use your work to advance their own ends. They can, and probably should change the names of places, things, and people, but the core remains the same.

Illumination - this is as much a work to teach yourself legerdemain as it is to teach others. It is not dangerous knowledge save in the hands of those who misuse it. We will take no legal or ethical responsibility for what is discussed. It is merely theory and simulated practice.

Gentlemen and Ladies, I welcome you to my mind.
