The Mito Region.
At one time it was a land of strife and darkness, ruled over by a trio of draconian magistrates in service to a grand, powerful god-king. In those days, man and beast alike were little more than slaves to the king's whim, existing only to try and satisfy his insatiable hunger and greed. Tales are told, though, about a trio of heroes who had risen up to face the king and his magistrates, leading a grand army of their ancestors who had perished under his rule. This force proved too strong even for the tyrant, all but destroying his loyal minions and sealing him in a prison far below the earth. Since that time, the likes of humanity and pokemon have thrived, building up a grand civilization in the place of that of the fallen king's. To this day, the heroes who saved the people of Mito are still celebrated, their day of victory serving as a grand holiday for all to commemorate, and their bodies kept in the most sacred of burial grounds in the entire region.
Unfortunately, not all people are quite so reverent.
One week ago, an unknown interloper broke into the Panmuerto Graveyard, a grand ossuary spanning deep beneath the earth, and ransacked three of its deepest graves. In the days following, a great, flaming creature broke up through the ground in the subterranean city of Migas, destroying a small chunk of the city before bursting through the roof of the cave that housed it. Now, unease is spreading quickly throughout the land, and rumors are spreading of a group seeking to return the old king to power.
It is time now for a new group of heroes to step forth to protect Mito once again. Are you brave enough to fight the wrathful king of old?
