The Rising Star is a training ship for the Imperial Knights. Those close to finishing their training are transferred here in order to get some practical practice.
An Ardent class fast frigate, it has served well for many years before being turned into one of the five such training ships.
Currently a new batch of officers, non-coms, ground pounders, pilots, and Trainee Knights have just been transferred.
The ship has always remained quite a mystery, arriving and then leaving the main fleet as soon as it loads up.
And nobody speaks of where it goes or what it does during the time that it is gone.
It is captained by the mysterious Vent Rallar, a captain of extreme skill, but who never has been revealed in any way shape or form to those not currently aboard the ship.
Again, he is someone that people don't talk about.
But, despite the mystery, those who train aboard it often come back several ranks higher, get promotions faster, and learn better. And nobody talks about the ones who die, so there is nobody to sully the record.
