The Winter Court that ends 1192 and begins 1193 has been planned for months as always. And then, tragedy struck at the most inopportune of times. A murder of an Imperial envoy within the walls of Kyuden Doji has led to a panic among the Hidden Guard. Suddenly, the Empress is to remain in Toshi Ranbo and avoid the festivities and the Crane must deal with the embarrassment. Still, many courtiers and their entourages were already enroute to Kyuden Doji and the surroundings will still offer the chance for political gain.
