In the world of Pokemon, there exist many organizations that utilize pokemon to meet their goals. These “Teams” treat Pokemon as tools, and as a means to an end. Generally, teams stick to a region in order to accomplish their goals. Throughout history, teams have been created and taken down. But for some unexplained reason, many of the old teams have risen from their ashes and are much more powerful than they were before. Of course there also needs to be a balance.
In recent times, two new teams have risen. Two sides of a coin, complete opposites of one another. These two new teams are Global teams. They handle (or cause) issues all over the world.
The first of which, Team Dark, is known for causing chaos throughout the world. Nobody is certain what their true goal is, but they are powerful. The members push their pokemon to the limits and use them to cause crimes throughout the world.
Coincidentally, the second team that was created soon after is called Team Light. Unlike many other teams, they dislike how the other teams use Pokemon as tools and weapons. While not all the members treat Pokemon like friends, all the members have a certain respect for their abilities and dislike all of the chaos that is being created all over the world.
Somehow, these two new teams have risen high above the rest of the world in terms of power and influence. Rumor has it that they both have the backing of Legendary Pokemon.
