Game Description

The Peryton Combat Academy, a training academy for Talons, those who defend against the fearsome Ogres of the wilderness, is a beacon of hope and safety for the Kingdom of Carinia. Named for it's mascot and the Aviary that the school uses, Talons who train at the academy are taught to ride Perytons despite more modern conveyances being available, as Perytons are valued for their autonomy, intelligence, and stealth. Students who attend the academy are selected from among the best fighters in their generations, passing rigorous entrance exams. Most first year students are between the ages of 15 and 17, boys and girls, human and fae.

As a new student to the academy, you shall soon be attending orientation. Who knows what lies ahead...

Genre
If you're familiar with RWBY, you're familiar with this genre. You are teenagers equipped with ludicrous hybrid weaponry and magical powers set to be defenders against the rampaging monsters known as Ogres, which come in sizes varying from "Large" to "monstrous", and all flavour of horrible and ugly. Your weapons vary in size and specific functionality, but ultimately will be able to narratively justify melee and ranged attacks at the very least.

House Rules
This game will be run in FAE, but unlike most FAE games you will start with a High Concept, a Trouble, a First Story aspect, and a Weapon aspect. The Weapon aspect describes your weapon and your relationship to it. Something like The Crescent Rose is My Girl, or Hammer Grenades Are the Best!

In addition, you start with two stunts: A general stunt, and a stunt that describes something awesome your weapon can do, or that you have learned to do with your weapon. As normal, this can be a +2 stunt or a 1/session stunt.

Finally, the standard approaches will be used with two exceptions: Quick becomes Graceful. Sneaky becomes Subtle.

Lastly, your characters do not yet know how to ride Perytons. You will learn that later.
