'University City' is an affectionate nickname, but a nearly universal one. Is it because no one remembers what the city is actually called, or because of something else? It is a mystery; one of many, many such mysteries in this city.
You are a girl. What kind? Well, a highschooler of some variety, though the details are a bit up in the air at the moment. You've recently moved to the city to take advantage of its excellent boarding schools. That means you're away from your parents and old friends, perhaps for the first time in your life. It also means you're living mostly on your own, except for your new roommate. This is a new and exciting experience, and just the sort of refreshing event to start off the new year and your life in high school.
But, of course, it never works out that cleanly. The city is too clean, and all that dirt rubs off on its people. Rubs off on you.
