ICONS Superhero role Playing Modules
I'm a new GM who wants to get into PBP here on myth-weavers and I have chosen the ICONS system, because I don't have to make any rolls, it's got plenty of pre made villains and generic enemies (but if I'm feeling sadistic I will custom tailor a few) the game has plenty of pre-made modules that I will use to get a feel for running the system, before eventually running my own, which I do have a idea for.
Now then, the application process for this game will be very different, players will begin with a pitch of their character's prelude life, up until the age they would potentially be entering into college.
Based on the strength of these applications, I will select players who will then begin down the path of the ICONS random character generation system, I am doing this because a lot of comic heroes never get to choose the nature of their powers or how they came to be. Your character can have any kind of background you like, but please this is meant to be 'Super Hero' game, so it's not much of a place for the Grim Dark characters, Keep in mind you won't be able to tailor your personality to match your powers.
Now I'm fully aware this may lead to one of the most convoluted and random array of abilities in the party EVER, I have no worries about balance, I've been on myth-weavers for years and have seen some great role playing, so I know the community will be able to make this work, and the quality of prelude backgrounds will play a strong part in this.
