Planar Keys
This is a game that will be focused on, among other things, planar travel. Due to the irresponsible actions of a selfish, petulant monarch the Prime Material Plane has been shattered into many pieces, called shards, that are, for the most part, acting as independent demiplanes.
Planar travel, however, has become far more difficult since the Sunder, the event that shattered the material plane, due to the gods fearing that mortals would do the same to their home planes. While the Plane Shift spell always required a focus of a "key" of sorts, most other forms of planar travel did not. In addition, these keys were easy to come across. All of that has changed, since the Sunder.
Now, dedicated planar travelers must hunt these "Planar Keys" if they wish to gain access to the planes. Even more troubling is that each shard now requires a different key, all of which are different modifications to old Prime Material Plane keys, many of which can only be found on different planes entirely.
While this will largely be a game revolving around story and exploration, there will, of course, be combat. Expect the encounters to be few in number, as I won't use "random" encounters in a play by post game, but challenging in nature.
The forum has far more setting information, and information on creating a character. I think it'll be an interesting ride.
I'd like to note that this is a spiritual remake of a game I previously attempted to run on this site that failed because I simply bit off more than I could chew, given that a lot was going on in my personal and professional lives. Said things have since calmed down, and I'm eager to take another shot at running this game.
