Game Description
From the Secret Annels of York York, February twelth, in the Year of our Lord Eight Hundred Seventy and Eight
Trouble is brewing, and I cannot stop it. Without a strong Christian Lord, I fear nothing can be done. The Danes are heathens, their pagan gods powerless to stop this incoming threat. Their gods may be strong, but we aren't talking about Demons or Fae. There is something much worse at play here, something insidious.
Of all the signs, these are the greatest. To begin, both the Seelie and Unseelie fae have taken up residence in our noble city. Lady Mab has without a doubt been seen, and her sister, Lady Titania has been said to have found a meadow just outside the walls to place her court. If they are here, the Queens cannot be far and York has some role to play in events to come.
Next, the Wanderer has been spotted within the city, at least twice has he spoken to local people known to be signatories to Mab's Accords. Clearly he has taken an interest, and if he's here personally, it means he cannot foresee the outcome. I suppose that means there is yet hope.
But what hope can there be if agents of them walk among us? Recently a woman was found dead, slain by an enemy of hers. Her body was defiled by their organs, she was no longer of creation, but belonged past the Outer Gates. I fear if there is one dead, there are others living. Some may be infiltrating our very defense structures.
If there is yet victory to be had, I cannot see how it will come. I pray to the Lord he will grant us wisdom and strength in these dark times.
-- Father Aethelred.
On English Neck a Danish Yoke is a Dresden Files game set in York during the Danelaw. Initial goals are /mostly/ unrelated to the teaser above, and will be about various patrons (both open and secretive about their patronage) trying to get the PCs to gain the power to deal with the real threat of the game.
