Through the Mist

Game Description

It's in a sort of proto-steampunk setting. Magic has been long outlawed in one of the countries and they've begun to excel as an alchemical and mechanical superpower. I try to keep the general feeling fairly light hearted, but sometimes things can take a dark turn. If you can't handle a story with adult content of virtually every nature this probably wont be the campaign for you.
Tech level is dawn of locomotion, the first railroad is being built at the beginning of the campaign. I have a whole list of homebrewed guns and firearm rules the players may want to familiarize themselves with, as well as a Gunslinger class. The class can be a bit OP in combat, but out of combat it's not so hot, and I do run an RP heavy ship.

I just have three simple rules you need to know up front:

• No Evil or Chaotic Neutral characters. Good is HIGHLY preferred. There are many reasons for this that I'd rather not get into.
• Your character should have a fairly detailed backstory, complete with a reason for adventuring. I'm happy to work with you to figure this out.
• All official material is fair game, material from unofficial sources and 3.0 are allowed upon my approval (No homebrew you made yourself will be considered. This includes your super well balanced totally not lame Monk, I actually have my own if you're interested in that.)

As a side note, alchemy is not magic in this setting, it's pure chemistry, and as such the Brew Potion feat simply requires a Character Level of 3, not Caster Level 3. I have more rules in regards to potions and crafting to accommodate this, including a lack of XP costs, and allowing for the foraging of raw materials. If you would like to be an Alchemist I highly recommend the so named classes in the Swashbuckling Adventures Campaign Setting, or the Player's Guide to the Wilderlands.
