Game Description

The year is 2161 CE, and the world is failing. It started forty years ago - on May 26, 2121 CE a scientist returning from a trip to the deepest sections of the remaining Amazon reported to a New York City hospital with a high fever and abdominal cramping. over the next three weeks more and more people begin to show up with similar symptoms along the route the man took returning to the US, then all over the world. By the time it is identified as a threat it is too late and the plague, now being termed the Green Death, has infected much of the world. Society grinds to a halt and chaos quickly spreads as the global trade infrastructure breaks down rapidly. Governments and the armed forces impose order for a time, but only see limited success, eventually withdrawing to fortified positions with who they can and leaving the world to its fate.

There are rumors that some countries nuked themselves and their neighbors, but North America at least has not suffered nuclear fire. The Green Death did something to the world, somehow, impossibly it birthed life from the dead. Once the bodies began to pile up too high for proper disposal, things began to grow; impossibly fast and large, until by now, six years on American cities have trees that rise higher than skyscrapers and root systems that overshadow apartment buildings. And then there are the Bioforms. The twisted monstrosities are the most common result to occur when one dies to the plague, the virus mutating and growing into a hyper-lethal predator that devours the deceased host's body and uses it as a template. Fortunately they do not spread the plague, instead they breed. Like vermin they spread in a tide - the only thing that stops them overrunning what little of the world remains even nominally under human control is their lack of true sapience and the fact that they prey on each other just as readily as they do humans.

Human Mutants, the offspring of those humans lucky enough to contract and survive the plague are becoming ever more common, and humanity as a whole is pushing back against the enemy, fighting to reclaim their world and rebuild, better, stronger, smarter. Things are bleak, there is no denying that, but not all is lost - the human spirit burns brighter than ever and for all that the world has ended, still people forge onward to a brighter tomorrow.

You are some of those soldiers in the battle to reclaim the Homeworld.
