Home to a great many strange and unknown races, the Eternal Sanctuary is the City between Dimensions. It is a massive rock floating in the nothingness, seemingly ripped from some unknown plane of existence and thrown into the nothingness, left over pieces that have broken off in the meantime floating side by side with it. In fact, so much time has passed since it was thrown where it is now, that the bottom of the rock it's build upon, has been completely build over.
It is home to many races, though only one would truly call it their home, and that is the
Taninim. They are a race of small, to even colossal dragons who call the Sanctuary their home and as such, they oversee it's laws and make sure no one breaks them. Them being the main race on the island, has led to many buildings being constructed with this in mind, the gigantic palace in the middle of the Sanctuary being with such large proportions, that it would remind normal humanoids of a mountain, especially when they see one of the dragonic elders land on the gigantic platforms, that are the main entrance to the palace.
Most buildings are build with either doors that could fit a Large dragon through them, or are build with a second, third, fourth and sometimes even fifth roof balcony, from which shop keepers can sell their wears to these massive beings. The Taninim are also very revered in certain worlds, who have constructed massive workshops and academies, designated specially for producing armours and magical items that can be used by the larger Taninim...
This inter-dimensional city is a cross-road between thousands of worlds, portals being constantly opened to new, never before seen realms, expeditions constantly heading out, be it to explore, be it to conquer, be it to enslave. The Taninim themselves often participate in such explorations!
