Game Description

False Prophets

Is a short adventure to unify a newly formed group of Heretics and bring them together. Within the Screaming Vortex is the world of Kymerus. A veritable wasteland, Kymerus is known for its intense temperatures, continent-sized, wind scoured plateau, and lifeless landscapes. Besides the breathable air, Kymerus contains few features that encourage life. Here, many years ago, the vessel Light of Ascension came to its final rest after being battered by the storms of the Halo Margins. Why it escaped from certain destruction in the grips of the storms, none can say.

Toppled Spires

Is a Black Crusade adventure that plunges the Heretics into the whirling, deadly maelstrom of intrigue and bloodshed, as they are caught up in a war between three rival sorcerers of the city of Surgub on Q’Sal. For countless ages, the balance of power on Q’Sal has been maintained by way of the binding pact each of the world’s sorcerers has entered into, a pact that requires them to never turn their world-shattering powers upon one another for fear of destroying their entire realm. Within each city, however, relations between sorcerers are subject to the capricious whims of their rulers. In Surgub, these relations are determined by the edicts of the Fourteen Factors, a group so unpredictable and unknowable that murder might rule one day, while the next, total and utter silence is demanded on pain of death.

Red Dawn Rising

Is a Black Crusade adventure that plunges the Heretics into all-out warfare in the pursuit of a powerful weapon, one powerful enough that they might one day use it to gain ascendancy over all of their rivals within the Screaming Vortex. This weapon, spoken of in awed tones as the Axe of Kha-Aksha, is a mighty axe in which a Bloodthirster of Khorne is entrapped, and located on the planet of Messia. But, as every true champion of the Blood God knows, such treasures are rarely to be claimed without a challenge. The axe is not lying around waiting to be picked up, but is instead in the possession of one of the countless millions of bloated mutants that shamble across the surface on Messia’s night side. How the mutant came into possession of the axe cannot be known, but when the tortured light of Messia’s polluted sun falls upon that wretched creature, it shall be transformed into a cunning and devious adversary, and at that very moment realise the true nature of the weapon clutched unthinkingly in its distended, filth-encrusted claws. When that happens, the once-lowly mutant will have in its possession the means of laying claim to the entire world.

At the Edge

Is a Black Crusade adventure that plunges the Heretics into the court of one of the decadent pirate princes of the Ragged Helix. Those Heretics used to achieving their goals through violence or strategy are likely to find the hedonistic excesses of the court a far greater challenge than they can possibly imagine. In order to progress as champions of Chaos, the Heretics must prove that they are able to master the most extreme of pursuits and not fall prey to the Prince of Pleasure. Countless souls are entrapped within the six circles of Slaanesh’s vices, but only those able to master and overcome, instead of resist and escape, those vices are truly worthy of treading the Path to Glory.

The Heart of the Vortex

Is a Black Crusade adventure in which the Heretics travel to the planet of Mire and face the judgement of the Plague God Nurgle. The adventure explores the themes of decay, death, and rebirth—the essential essence of this particular Ruinous Power. In order to earn the Plague Father’s blessings and progress on the Path to Glory to the very heart of the Screaming Vortex, the Heretics must face their greatest challenge yet. They must confront and overcome their own mortality to be reborn into the full grandeur of Chaos.
