Game Description

You get off work and walk to your car. A black limousine is waiting for you. An Asian man in a fancy suit steps out, he approaches you. "Excuse me, <Insert Your Name>? Can I have a minute of your time? I have a job offer for you." He asks in impeccable english. You get in the car and it starts driving. Once it does, the man gives you a piece of paper. It says that if you go to Japan to hear out the offer, $5000 will be deposited in your account, no strings attached.

When asked questions, the man always responds the same in the same polite way. "I'm sorry sir, you will learn what you want to know when we get to Japan. My task is just to take you there." After a first class flight you spend watching movies, you arrive in Kyoto. Another limousine picks you both up at the airport and drives you through the city, there isn't any traffic because it is a sunday. It stops at the Nintendo building, you recognize the logo.

The man takes you through some sort of back entrance in the building. You walk through a maze of hallways and end up taking an elevator all the way down to a very fancy research facility. The little trip ends in an office, which is where the man that has accompanied you leaves you. After you wait for 20 minutes, another man comes in behind you. He puts down a cup of coffee in front of you and takes another to his side of the office. He shakes your hand as he puts down the cup. "I'm Satoru Iwata, CEO of Nintendo. Pleased to meet you."

"So mister <Insert Your Name>, you must wonder what you are doing here on a sunday in Japan ..." He looks at you with a gentle face. "The Pokemon franchise is huge for us. Do you know how it came to be?"

You reply with either the answer that is on wikipedia or you answer that you don't know.

"Well, let me tell you the real story ..." The CEO leaves a dramatic pause and you lean forward (that snake).

"About 25 years ago, there was a man who was researching time travel and other dimensions. He was really talented, but also perceived as a bit extravagant. Some thought he was downright crazy. Anyway that man found out something amazing and opened a portal to another dimension and got sucked in before it closed. That man's name was Doctor Nara. It means Oaks in english ... Doctor Nara was trapped in another dimension, another world, and he was trying to find a way to get back. Four years later, he made a machine that could contact our world and his. He used alien technology to capture energy of lifeforms, which is pretty common in that world. Doctor Nara contacted a former gold Olympic's winner named Hidehiko Yoshida. Asked him for help and opened another portal to capture Hidehiko's energy into the world. Nara needed an athletic young man to start a quest and capture and train the special creatures in that dimension to gain something Nara needed. It took them a whole year, but they succeeded in their task and Hidehiko got sent back. He had this amazing story to tell, but nobody believed him. Until he met Satoshi Tajiri and that guy made the story kid friendly and ended up making it a franchise for us." He stops a few seconds to take a sip from his cup.

"Doctor Nara could travel back home but at the last moment of the dimension hop, he found out something that may cause harm to both of our worlds so he stayed to figure out what it is. He stayed there until now actually, and contacted us with a huge danger. He opened a portal 25 years ago, and it has set a chain of events in motion that might cause the Pokemon world to implode. Nara thinks that our world is tied to that world, and if that happens our world may suffer immense consequences. Doctor Nara once again needs someone to be his Pokemon Champion. Because only humans from earth can become strong enough to command Pokemon strong enough to achieve what Doctor Nara needs done, we had you come over here." He looks you in the eye now, knowing that you have come to the conclusion what they'll ask of you.

"We track our Pokemon games very well. Tons of algorithms tell us who cleared the games in which way, how they did it, how long it took them .... We also attached small trackers in the free PTU files people can download. They ping us with a lot of data from your computer. The characters you make for PTU games, the trainers and Pokemon you assemble. Bottomline we did a lot of stuff to find ourselves an appropriate candidate. And you sir <Insert Your Name> are our number 1 pick. So you have a choice to make." The man says while opening his desk. He takes out two papers and puts them in front of you next to each other.

"The one on your left basically says, I will decline the offer and go home and has a secrecy clause you have to sign. If you choose to do this, there will be $200.000 in your account by tomorrow to help you remember that secrecy clause ... The one of the right has the same secrecy clause, but it states you will venture into the Pokemon world and take part in the quest. The Japanese government offers you $10.000.000 if you succeed. If you end up dying in that world, which is a possibility, you can chose one person who will be compensated with $500.000 for losing you." After dropping that bombshell on you, he stands up. "I will give you a moment to think about it in private."
