Knight Errant Seattle Division (South) Vice President Karl Maxsteadder is pleased to announce the formation of a specialist task force to combat the rising tide of gang activity in our public spaces. This task force, drawing specialist from across our organisation, will focus on locating the source of the problem and addressing it directly rather than merely managing the consequences. Rather than a doctor who prescribes meds for the symptoms that present themselves, some anti-biotics here, some pain meds there, a little anti-depressant to take the edge of it all, this team will be like a surgeon, they will locate the cause of the symptoms and then swiftly cut it out with a sharp knife.

This task force will answer directly to me and will cross departmental boundaries as necessary; drawing in the resources they need to get the job done. They will be established in a dedicated command hub where they will have access to information, records and other information sources, to allow them to search out, and deal with, the problems in our great city.

No stone will be left unturned; if you’re a ganger watching this, and you’ve got plans relating to areas of this fine city then I’ve only got one thing to say to you “Watch your back, Task Force Hurricane is coming for you!”

TASK FORCE HURRICANE
Ladies and Gentlemen, by now you will have seen the press conference and subsequent press release by the VP this morning regarding the formation of a new task force. Do not be taken in by the public position on this; the leadership team know that the gangs are a problem that cannot be simply dealt with, this task force is an effort to be seen to be tackling the issue whilst setting it up for failure so as to bring about a change of legislation so as to allow the use of direct intervention, para-military force as it were, in addressing the gang problem in the city.

As such, we are not looking for your best and brightest candidates for the task force; rather see this as an opportunity to rid yourselves of those troublesome elements within your precincts, placing them all in one team where they can under perform and put themselves in harm’s way; and if it all goes down badly the company won’t have lost anything too valuable. We’ve already determined that Lt Diego Ramirez will be responsible for overseeing the team; he knows what he did to deserve it, even if you don’t.

“Applications” close at the end of the month; we’ll hold a selection panel shortly thereafter and announce the composition of the team before the holiday weekend; we are looking for 4-8 team members to make it appear credible. The team will report for duty immediately upon returning to work and will not return to the general force until released by the VP personally. Please put forward your recommendations for candidates directly to me. How you pitch it to the lucky individuals is up to you.

Concept

This is a Shadowrun 4E (20th Anniversary Edition) game where the players will all be employees of Knight Errant in Seattle. This is my first time GMing Shadowrun and I'm looking for relatively (or completely) new players so that we can all learn together; if you've played in more than a handful of games or for a reasonable amount of time then this isn't really for you, but I'd happily consider applications from people looking to learn new rules (e.g. Never played a hacker) but I might put you at the bottom of the priority list if I have to choose. Looking for 4-8 players to allow for dropping out or RL issues that slow posting down a bit.
