Game Description

The World This is a game of Marvel Super Heroes (The old FASERIP system), set in the 17474 Alternate Marvel Earth. Earth 17474 is my own version of the Marvel universe. On this Earth, things have progressed much as our modern, real world Earth has. During Operation Desert Storm in the early 90's, a US Army Special Forces unit conducting operations in the mountains of Northern Iraq discovered something wondrous and unbelievable.

While searching for an apparent secret Iraqi research facility in Northern Iraq, US Special Forces personnel discovered the facility, and found that the facility housed alien technology! After a running battle with base security, who was able to activate a self-destruct device, the base was destroyed and lost. Very little of the alien tech was able to be recovered before the cavern the alien device was housed collapsed, destroying the device. Only a few scraps of alien metal, some damaged gizmos of unknown purposes, and the power source of the main machine housed there.

The discovery has been kept secret of course, as has been those with unique powers. A small secret, multi-national agency, known by the few who know of it, as SSIR (Strategic Scientific Investigations and Research), also known as Unit/Department 7747, is responsible for the study, recovery, and sometimes, apprehension, of those possessing unique talents.

The public at large do not know of Mutants, Alien Technology, Magic, or Hyper-Technology. There is no Iron Man, Avengers, or X-Men. AIM, HYDRA, and The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants are not household names, if they exist at all.

The only known names belong to Captain America and Red Skull, but they are propaganda pieces from World War II. At least, that is what is widely believed.

For the Players While players will be using custom made characters, they are free to use existing names, free from the restrictions of existing Marvel canon. Preferably, players should not make carbon copies of existing Marvel characters, including personality, origin, and Forms, which are not randomly determined. But if it should happen, hopefully players will put their own spin on the character.
