The Great Salt Road
Sabium, the great jewel of the wastes and capital of the Kingdom of Akkan. Sabium is a city of power, gold and treachery. It is the lynchpin that holds together the great salt road, a massive trade route stretching from either end of the continent.
The queen of Sabium grows old, and with the sudden death of the crown Prince last month the Kingdom is on the precipice of crisis, with none of royal blood to take the throne. The Council of Bones grows restless, its members jockying for position in the face of a power vacuum.
To the east lies the Isanor Empire, a large nation populated mostly by elves and ruled by the Court of Fallen Leaves. To the west lies The Griffon Kingdom, a theocracy ruled by a child king heralded as a messiah. These foreign powers watch the situation in Akkan with great interest, as the kingdom would make quite the prize for either nation.
