Final Fantasy: Light in the Dark
The year is 2062.
Palnera, the world upon which we live, is experiencing a golden age. The Information Age, as it was called, has passed. And with it, went many of the troubles we struggled against. World hunger, global warming, poverty. These are things of the past. Medical advances have even successfully eliminated cancer. Truly, a wondrous time to be alive.
So why am I afraid?
Why do I lie awake at night, trying to block out the whispers? Why is it that every time I stare into the darkness, I feel like something stares back at me? Is there something there, hiding, waiting? Am I just going insane, my grasp on reality slowly slipping through my fingers? I don't know what to believe.
Tomorrow is the day.
For some time now, I've been trying to talk to people about this... problem... I have. Every time I try, I fail. But not with him. Somehow, I can talk to him. Somehow, he can understand, he can help me hide from the whispers, at least for a time. And now, he wants to meet. He said it will be a momentous day, whatever that means.
Tomorrow, I will finally be free.
