Game Description

The Seventh - Looking for four to five players.

You came to this town for your own reasons, you never asked to be part of any of this. But as it is, the city is burning. Assassins are running across the rooftops, guards are fighting among themselves, with little to no regard for who else gets hurt in the fight. You have no idea what is going on, who is fighting who - or for what reason. All that matters now is, these people you find yourself with might just keep you alive and out of town. In fact - they might even help you get closer to your goal.

This is a bit of a noir-style fantasy game, where the party - made up of all walks of life and with their own personal goals band together. For better or worse. They'll end up in-between murderers and thieves, holy knights and foul creatures as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens the world. Which they will ultimately have to.. deal with, of course. The story here was originally composed for a comic book that I wanted to create, but I've went and changed it into a game. I believe it'll work out brilliantly as it includes some cool twists and possible role playing mechanics that will work perfectly here. If we play the whole thing, you'll end up at level 15-17 over four chapters and intertwining character arcs.

During these travels, you'll encounter some cool NPC's, of course there's enough action and exploration of various regions. There's a few magic-heavy quests and times where having one of those religious fanatics with you could really be helpful. But, just pointing this out in advance - so you know if this game is for you - don't expect planar travel, battles of gods, dimensional gates and traversing heavens and that sort of stuff. It's a mature campaign about rivaling factions, brutal criminals, conspiracies and people (and monsters, rest assured).

This game will update daily, I will try and respond to rolls and checks asap. Whilst I understand that everyone has their own lives to deal with, and might not always be able to post. I understand this and I respect that, as would anyone. However, the other players would like to continue, as well would I. I've noticed how these games can easily fall into a few excited players refreshing daily for a week without seeing a single update. I won't let this happen.

So sometimes, through your inaction, inability to post, your character might just tag along without saying anything. If needed, I might take control of your character for a post or two, respecting your character of course. If this happens a lot, or over an extended period of time.. Well. Let's say his or her inaction might lead to a terrible disaster. Worry not, the notice board will be filled with tales of your exploits and a call for heroes to fill your boots. You might even get hired once more. Or revived, or something. As long as you understand that the game will continue, and I'll not wait for days on end.

I'm not stating this to come across as an ass - but if the game comes to a standstill, it's practically over, disappointing everyone else involved. I will do what I can to not let this happen, and keep it going and flowing. These types of 'accidents' never come as a surprise, will be announced OOC.

Creating your character:

  • 25 point buy, start at level 2 (so it's possible to start as multi class)
  • Class selection from
    1. Core Rule Book
    2. Advanced Class guide
    3. Advanced Player's Guide (for Prestige classes)
    4. Ultimate Combat *Sans Gunslinger, since - there's no such thing as guns*
    5. Ultimate Magic

  • If applicable, pick your deity from Golarion
  • Core, featured and uncommon races welcome, although I won't run the game with a party of hobgoblins or an army of frog people or somesuch.
  • No alignment restrictions. Due to the nature and atmosphere of the game, dealing with those of a different outlook might just be necessary, and that goes for all alignments. With that in mind, I'd like to run this with a balanced party.

    Traits and Drawbacks
  • Pick two Basic Traits OR Pick one and a Campaign Trait
  • Pick One in and one out of element settings (see below)
  • Optional: Pick a campaign trait (see below that)

In and Out of your ElementIn- and Out of your Element

Based on your background, pick one environment where your are In your Element, and one where you are out of it. Whenever you're in it - you gain a +1 to *all* your rolls; AC, saves, attack, skills and damage - the works. The opposite is true for when you're out of it, and you gain a -1 penalty to all your rolls. When you're neither, your rolls are as normal.

Pick from:
  1. Urban/castles
  2. Country/Forest
  3. Underground
  4. Mountains/Snow
  5. Sea/Coast

So your Pirate Swashbuckler would, for instance, pick Sea/Coast as 'in' and Underground as 'out' of his element. He'd gain a +1 to all his rolls whilst looking for clams on the beach, brawling at the fishery or commandeering a ship, but would get a -1 penalty looking for traps in a dungeon, dodging mind flayers in their cave etc.

Campaign traitsThere are two major plots in the game that are intertwined, and if you're willing, you can be one of two characters that have more of an involvement in one or the other. This does come with a bit of restriction to your character's backstory, or your reason for being in town, for example. Your character will have knowledge the other characters don't, and have a personal goal from the get-go. Some goals might conflict with others. If this is something you'd like, post that below, or PM me, and I'll contact you with your options.

The Bodyguard
Has a personal stake in A-story and gets added info when relevant
Any non-evil
Any Class
Gets a bonus to AC and Will saves

You are the sworn protector of the Lord Baron and his family. Although a great warrior, you saw the lord cut down - by your own comrades in arms, no less - when the chaos ensued. Trusting no one, you quickly rescued his young daughter from her chambers to flee the fighting and get her to safety, when you ended up here. Luckily, you have a plan.

The Avenger
Has a personal stake in b story and gets added info when relevant
Any Alignment
Any Class
Gets certain class skills extra, or bonus to them if already a class skill.

(part) of your family was brutally murdered by a serial killer. 'The Puppeteer' as people call him nowadays, displays his victims in an odd fashion. Using rope, leaves and sticks, he sets his victims up as if they're still alive; eating around a table, or building a fire - almost like statues. In every town he struck, the guard have all but given up. You took it on yourself to investigate, which led you here.

If that's not your cup-of-tea, and want more control, or go into the story a little more wide-eyed, that's no problem at all. It's just that I haven't written in a personal stake for you (yet). That might arise in the future, but maybe not from the start. I will still add information relevant to what you would know, of course, so let me know if you're well-known in town, if you're an expert survivalist etc!
