"Why should anyone travel the cracked cobblestones of the Old Road? The fortress that once cast its shadow across the road does so no longer - some whisper that the swallowed the fortress whole in ages long past. Four brave adventurers resolved to discover the truth and set off down the Old Road, but they never returned."
The town of Oakhurst lies north of the old ruins of the Sunless Citadel, although few remember why the ruins are called such. The Old Road winds to the south to these ruins, but the path has become neglected and overgrown.
Every summer, a group of goblins come from the Old Road and sell a single magical fruit to the village. This fruit is said to heal all but the worst wounds and maladies.
In the past, these very same goblins were bandits that were a scourge to the village. What could have caused these monsters to turn from thievery to trading? And what was the fate of those four who delved into the Citadel?
