Land of the Civilized Kings
The small town of Roanoke, Virginia is a quiet place tucked into the feet of the Smoky Mountains. Like many towns in the countryside there is a healthy population of werewolves who prowl among humanity and watch the spirit world. The war against the Pure is not unknown here but it hasn't been a problem for years thanks to the intervention of two forces. The first is a powerful guardian spirit called Ga-Oh who dwells in Mill Mountain outside of town and suffers no uninvited guests in his territory. The second power is the other chlidren of Ga-Oh the primordial Beasts who are allied with the Uratha. They fight the Pure alongside their "cousins" and keep the town safe.
Things are not what anyone would called settled but at least they are of known quantities. That is, until a stranger walks into town. Dream Dancer is a knowledgeable Cahalith from the coast and he has requested an audience with representatives from the Five Packs of Roanoke Valley. What news he has remains a mystery but it could change everything.
