Neo-Yamato.
A special city constructed within the Nara prefacture of Japan, Neo-Yamato is one of the new reconstruction sites, along with Tokyo-2, and a handful of others that the United Nations paid to have made. In this case, it was selected to be a city that served and was protected by NERV. Requiring both a steady supply of anyone who had any ability to synchronize with an Evangelion, this area was populated by a wide range of the desperate, seeking a better place to live. And for years, it seemed that their wish would be granted. Neo-Yamato has been a safe, viable place to live. As it is supported directly by both the Japanese government and the UN, a local economy has grown and acquired many rare delicacies from a wide variety of different countries. And as far as the people who live within this city know, that is how life might go on forever. NERV protects this city, making it the only place on Earth which has a legitimate defense against the Angels.
The residents of Neo-Yamato live in a state of unawareness. NERV maintains its presence as a form of security and the small number of angel attacks on other cities have been enough to show that their power is enormous. Only NERV has the power to fight them. Three attacks have been made upon Neo-Yamato, but each attack so far has shown to be fairly well handled. This is mostly assessed from the scope of property damage. In reality, these three attacks provided clear insight to NERV, as a majority of the pilots were killed or wounded due too contact with the Angels, at least one of which appeared to simply vanish from his Entry Plug. Recent recruiting has brought the Eva team back up to five members, and hopefully their new tactical division lead will be able to prepare them for the dangers awaiting them...
