It is with great regret that I write you this letter. One day prior to my penning this, our mutual friend, Professor Petros Lorrimor, passed to the Infinite Stair to be shepherded by the Mother of Souls to his well earned reward. His passing was quite sudden and has left his friends and family in Ravengro in a state of shock.
I hope you can forgive my intrusion into your busy life, but your presence is requested at the Professor's funeral. In point of fact, your presence is required, for Petros stipulated that his last will and testament shall not be read if you are not in witness.
The funeral is scheduled for the second hour of the afternoon of 17 Pharast, 4711, at the Restlands Cemetery of Ravengro, County of Canterwall, Immortal Principality of Ustalav. The reading of Professor Lorrimor's last will and testament will take place aftwerward at the Lorrimor residence in Ravengro. Included with this letter is a ticket for a stagecoach to Ravengro, as well as a small sum to cover travel expenses to the nearest boarding station.
