Pride of Aundair
Aundair was once a great and grand nation, a producer of fine wines and excellent swordsmen. While this holds true even after the Last War, much of what once was has been lost. While every nation reels from the deeds of the Last War, only Cyre and Karrnath are in worse condition. Land was lost to the Eldeen Reaches and Thrane. Citizens were killed by the hundreds and many towns now lie in a state of disrepair. It may be a wounded nation, but every Aundairian is proud to be a citizen.
This is the nation that you call your own. It may have problems, it may be staggering from the effects of the war, but it is your nation. The situation is not totally lost, however. Queen Aurala, in her infinite wisdom and compsmegion, has been taking greater steps to staunch the wounds of war. Just a few short months ago she enacted the Brightstar League. Upon the founding of this league, Queen Aurala spoke to a large crowd. “If we are to reaffirm our place as the brightest star in the crown of Galifar, we must take steps to ensure that the light of our star is not dimmed. To this end, I have created a new league sponsored by the nation: the Brightstar League. This league of exemplary citizens will begin the task of soothing the wounds of the war and rebuilding our great nation.”
The new project has been moving swiftly for a government project. Craftsmen from across the nation have been recruited to aid in the many tasks and many war veterans have been given new jobs in the league. While the rebuilding and restoration project has been moving quite swiftly, the program has run into a few problems. The caravans loaded with supplies have been prime targets for brigands and monstrous attacks, and many have been disappearing in alarmingly increasing numbers. Realizing that some war veterans and even adventurers could provide much needed support for the league, Aurala has created a new branch of the Brightstar League. Officially known as the Brightstar Knights, this group of veteran warriors and spellcasters now provides support for any number of these projects.
The trouble is that few adventurers found the proposition of playing caravan guard to be a worthwhile investment of their time and energy. In order to attract more capable applicants, Aurala quickly offered a 100 galifar stipend to all qualified applicants. In addition, first-time criminals convicted of minor nonviolent crimes (such as petty theft or non-lethal duels) have been given the option to enlist in the Brightstar Knights as initiate members instead of serving prison time. These two edicts have quickly started to swell the ranks of the Brightstar Knights, who now number nearly 100 in number. These new knights are being trained as quickly as possible and sent out on the most difficult of missions.
So far the Brightstar Knights have been called a resounding success. The brigands have stopped attacking the caravans, several dangerous areas have been reclaimed, and the public has been supporting both the Brightstar League and the Brightstar Knights. As successful as this new program has been, there is still much work to be done for the good of Aundair.“The glory and grandeur of Aundair will be reclaimed by the craftsmen and the worker. Yet these dedicated souls need the aid of brave citizens to protect them from danger. We are such citizens, fighting to restore the glory of Aundair!

You are a proud member of the Brightstar Knights, an elite group of patriotic Aundairians who have dedicated their service to rebuilding Aundair. You perform the tasks that the common men and women of Aundair cannot, lending aid and support to your nation.
