Spirit of the Machine
Hello, all. I am starting a steampunk DnD game. This is my first game that I've DMed (so a co-DM would be very nice, if anyone would like to volunteer). It is set in an alternate history Europe. The America's haven't been discovered yet, Africa is a giant blank spot of unknown wilderness on the map, and the Orient, being so distant, has yet to receive a share of the wondrous new power of steam. It is an amalgamation of periods, with society (in general) being at a Victorian-esque level, and science and technology resembling the Eberron campaign setting.A great shadow passes over your head and you look up to see the great airship Titanic that you just got off sailing serenely overhead. You look ahead, down the twisting streets of London. The smell of smoke and warm metal is everywhere and you watch as massive robots help with construction, and horseless carriages roll by. It truly is a golden age, though whether that term refers to enlightenment, or simply the bronze and copper that is used in these new contraptions isn't quite always clear. You hoist your luggage and signal a cab to take you to the address you saw on the fliers. Yes. Today is a new day.
