The Leviathan
The year is 2240. The Union of Democratic Systems (UDS) finds itself in raised tensions with the People’s Conglomerate of Stars (PCS). Their current standoff can be much likened to another which occurred nearly 3 centuries ago between two other nations. Dark Matter Acceleration Platforms (DMAPs) are located in classified locations throughout space between the two empires, ready to fire their deadly payload at a moment’s notice. Two of humanity’s organizations once again find themselves staring mutually assured destruction in the face.
August 3rd, 2240: A Dark Matter Acceleration Platform, the PCS Leviathan, goes dark. All efforts to contact the platform are fruitless. Several hours later, a disturbing message is received from an engineer on the station; something is doubtlessly going very wrong.
The Leviathan itself is not the largest platform in existance, but it's potentially the most deadly. The Leviathan is within range to completely annihilate both the Capitol and foremost industrial planet of the UDS well before retaliatory strikes can either disable or destroy it. Not exactly something you'd want to fall into anyone's hands other than your own.
Three teams of the PCS's elite commandos, the Spetsnaz, are sent to investigate and secure the Leviathan.
